Abstract

Penyebaran Corona Virus (COVID 19) telah mengubah sistim pengajaran Bahasa Inggris di sekolah menengah. Untuk mengatasi penyebaran COVID 19 maka pengajaran bahasa Inggris dilaksanakan secara online. Salah satu metode yang diterapkan di SMK N 3 Payakumbuh adalah metode Blended Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mendeskripsikan perspektif siwa SMK terhadap Blended Learning dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancanagn deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK N 3 Payakumbuh. Purposif sampling teknik digunakan denga jumlah sample 60 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu angket yang sudah mempehatikan validitas dan reliabitas. Berdasarkan analis data, hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK N 3 Payakumbuh memiliki perspektif yang positif terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dengan mneggunakan Blended Learning. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK N 3 Payakumbuh memiliki perspektif yang positif terhadap Blended Learning dalam belajar bahasa Inggris ditinjau dari motivasi belajar, proses pembelajaran, dan content bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the second year students’ perception on the importance of learning English at the department of PTIK FKIP UBH. The method of this research is descriptive research. The population of this research is the second year students of PTIK. The number of samples was 18 students taken by the total sampling technique. The data were taken by using a questionnaire. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that in general, the students of PTIK think that English is an important subject. It can be seen in the high index that is found on the result of data analysis. It can be concluded specifically, first, the students’ perception about the importance of Learning English is positive and the index is 86.11%, it is categorized as a good/positive response. Second, the students’ perception about the importance of learning English language skills is positive and the index is 86.11%, it is categorized as a good/positive response. Based on the result of the research, it was found that the students of PTIK think that English is an important subject. The researcher would like to give some suggestions to the lecturers to guide the students in learning English and teach the students to have better English. The students are suggested to pay attention to the lecturers while teaching, so the students will have better English

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the fourth year students’ ability in translating a business letter from English into Indonesian at the English Department of Bung Hatta University. The design of this research was descriptive. The research sample members were 20 students chosen by using total sampling techniques. The data were collected through a Translation Testand analysed by using a descriptive statistics. The result of data analysis showed the students had very good ability in translating a business letter from English into Indonesian. Furtherly, it can be explained that the students had  very good ability in using lexical equivalence in translating a business letter.While, the students’ ability in using grammatical adjustment in translating a business letter was good. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the fourth year students’ ability in translating a business letter from English into Indonesian at the  English Department of Bung Hatta University was very good. And further research is needed to do to find the reason why the students’ ability in using grammatical adjustment in translating a businessletter from English into Indonesian was not very good either.   REFERENCES Al-Darawish, H.
