Abstract

Formalization discourses on Syariat Islam in Indonesia today, has called for serious discussions from the different categories of people. And various opinions have been put forward, either pro or con. Differences in opinion are normal fact, because they do reflect not only the existence of the democracy but also the hetrogenity of the religious life in Indonesia, admitted and protected by the law and constitution. As a part of Indonesian society, Catholic people are called to give their opinion or ideas. The expression of thought is one of the realization of the freedom and tolerance of religious life in Indonesia. Kata-kata Kunci: Formalisasi, Syariaat islam, gereja katholik.

Abstract

Setiap kali perhelatan politik digelar para ulama dan tokoh agama ikut sibuk menjadi corong para politisi dan kandidat atau pasangan calon tertentu. Bahkan tidak sedikit para tokoh agama dan ulama ikut terjun langsung menjadi pasangan calon untuk bersaing dengan tokoh-tokoh atau kanddat lain dalam meraih kekuasaan.Fenomena pasangan calon dari kelompok ulama dan tokoh agama sudah menjadi trend dan menggurita pasca rontoknya rezim orde baru yang menandakan bukanya kembali keran demokrasi di Indonesia yang sekian lama mati suri. Sejak itu, lantaran ada peluang dan kesempatan untuk menjadi politisi atau birokrasi banyak tokoh agama dan para ulama yang terlibat dalam politik praktis. Ada tokoh agama dan ulama yang memilih menjaga jarak dengan dunia politik dan kekuasaan. Ulama golongan ini lebih memilih mengurusi umat, pemberdayaan warga dan menjauh dari hingar bingar dunia politik praktis. Namun ulama seperti ini bukan berarti mereka tidak berpolitik. Mereka berpolitik menggunakan mekanisme dan cara, strategi dan taktik dan tujuan yang berbeda dengan “ulama politik” yaitu ulama yang secara terang-terangan terjun dalam dunia politik praktis.

Abstract

Religious teachings come from Allah's revelation while culture is a human creation. However, religion and culture are two things that influence each other. Religious values and cultural values penetrate and shape the character of the community who adhere to them. This paper is a study of the life of Islam in East Nusa Tenggara Province in its interaction with local culture. Muslims in Timor who come from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds are people who are devout in practicing their religious faith. But on the other hand, they also stick to and obey their culture. In its embodiment, religion purifies culture and culture forms the character of society to be loyal to their religious faith.

Abstract

Purpose – Multicultural education is very important to strengthen the Pancasila character of students, but the current teaching methods are still theoretical and do not integrate local culture. The purpose of this research is to develop an interactive e-module based on Flipbook Maker for multicultural education courses by integrating the local wisdom of NTT.Method – This study uses the research and development method with the ADDIE development model to design, develop, and test the feasibility of interactive e-modules based on Flipbook Maker. The development process through five stages-analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation-was carried out systematically, involving validation by experts and practitioners, as well as descriptive data analysis to assess the quality and feasibility of the e-module. Findings – Validation results showed an average score of 3.307 from media experts, 3.167 from subject matter and language experts, and 3.238 from practitioners, categorizing the e-module as “highly valid” and “valid” with minor revisions. User evaluation yielded an average score of 3.347, confirming that the e-module is suitable for implementation without further revisions. The uniqueness of this e-module lies in its integration of local wisdom from NTT, which has not been incorporated by any previous researchers in the development of multicultural education learning materials. Research Implications – The integration of local wisdom into digital learning media can improve understanding of multicultural education and strengthen students' Pancasila character. Flipbook Maker-based e-modules provide innovative solutions to educational challenges in the digital era. However, its implementation is limited to one university, limiting generalization. In addition, technology access constraints affect effectiveness, and the long-term impact on students' Pancasila character remains unmeasured.
