Abstract

Bonto Bahari Village, Maros Sul-Sel Regency is one of the milkfish producing areas The main problem faced by this village is that when harvest time comes, milkfish commodities are abundant so that their selling value decreases and even causes losses to pond farmers. Laskar Jaya Bahari farmer group together with the community partnership program team from the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) are looking for solutions to the problems mentioned above, so the efforts made are the Utilization of Milkfish (Chanos Chanos) into High Economic Value Products. Community service activities were carried out on September 28, 2020 in sabanga hamlet, Bonto Bahari Village, Bontoa Regency, Maros Regency with group partner "Laskar Jaya Bahari.. Such efforts are expected to increase the income of partners, create new jobs which in turn improves the welfare of the community . The expected output target is an increase in the understanding, knowledge and skills of the farmer group "YH Laskar Jaya Bahari about 1. Techniques for pulling out thorns and packaging whitefish 2. Frying technique of whitefish crispy and 3. Knowing how to manage PIRT and Halal certification from MUI. Based on the results of the implementation of the community partnership program for members of the YH Laskar Jaya Bahari group, it is optimistic that it will increase income by increasing the selling value of milkfish by preparing milkfish products without thorns and crispy milkfish with packaging that already has PIRT and halal certification.

Abstract

Information about potency and utilization of Skipjack Tuna in Bone Bay region will support regionalmanagement of fisheries resources in Indonesiabased on characteristic and carrying capacity of marine waters, espcially in Bay region. The aims of this study were to estimate potency of Skipjack Tuna and the level of theirutilization in Bone Bay region and to estimate the primary productivity produced by euphotic zone (Pp).Analysis methods used in this study were catch per unit effort(CPUE) and maximum sustainable yield (MSY),vertically generalized production model (VGPM) which required data of photosynthetically active radiationanddepth of euphotic zone, fish production model by considering energy transfer efficiency among trophic level. This study was conducted for eight months in Luwu Regency. The result of the study showed that the utilization ofthe Skipjack Tunawas bigger than the MSY,.The Ppeu was in the range of 483.3143to 1306.027 mgC m. The Skipjack Tuna biomass estimation was in the range of 97.87 to264.47tonnes Keywords : Skipjack Tuna, utilization, potency, fisheries management, Bone Bay

Abstract

Bone Strait and Flores sea are Indonesian waters which has a high fish resources, especially Katsuwonuspelagicus. Those waters are also affected by climate change. Aims of study were to examined distribution map ofKatsuwonus fish based on environemental condition at Bone Strait and Flores Sea. Study was conducted for fourmonths (May – August 2015). Environment parameters (Sea level temperature, Chl a, salnity and pH) wasmeasured in situ at fishing area and fish weight data was measured through measuring fish that caught from poleand line fishermen. Results showed that Katsuwonus from Bone Strait (1 – 2 kg and 3.5 – 5 kg) tended to distributeat temperature, Chl a, salinity and pH account for 29.3oC – 30oC, 0.8 – 1.5 mg/m3 and 28 – 30 o/oo, 7.95 – 8.37respectively. meanwhile fish with 2 – 2.5 kg was distributed at 30oC – 30.3oC, 0.6 – 0.7 mg/m3, 28 – 29 o/oo and8.32 – 8.5 for temperature, Chl a, salinity and pH, respectively. At Flores Sea, Katsuwonus with 1.2 – 1.5 kgtended to distribut at 29.5oC – 30oC, 0.12 – 0.16 mg/m3, 28 – 30 o/oo and 7.95 – 8.57 for temperature, chl a, salinityand pH, respectively. Fish with weight 1.5 – 2.2 kg was spread at 28.5oC – 29oC for temperature, 0.1 – 0.13mg/m3 chl a, 28 – 30o/oo for salinity and 8.38 – 8.5 for pH.Keywords : Distribution map, Katsuwonus fish, environmental factor, Bone Strait and Flores Sea.

Abstract

Seagrass ecosystems in the coastal Labakkang Pangkep regency is the habitat of various types of shellfish which is the target of local fishermen catch. One of the many species of shellfish found in this coastal area is the mussel shell (Marcia hiantina L.). This study aims to determine the relationship between the length and weight of the long shell size of mussel shells (Marcia hiantina L.) in the coastal waters catchment of Labakkang. This research was conducted in catching area at three locations in coastal waters of Labakkang based on density of seagrass and population with sampling every month from August 2014 until July 2015 by using descriptive method that is random sampling by measuring the length of shell and weight of each shellfish. The results showed that the constant value (b) of mussel shell (Marcia hiantina L.) in all observation stations ranged from 2,44 to 2,63, meaning growth pattern including negative allometrik means shell length growth faster than body weight with coefficient of determination (R2) ranging from 0,88 to 0,91 means to have a high enough. The distribution of the size of the mussel (Marcia hiantina L.) is found on the smallest C  size station with the range 1,50 – 1,88 cm and the middle value of 1,69 cm and the largest with a range of 5,34 - 5,72 cm and the middle value of 5.53 cm.Keywords: Bakalang shell, Length weight, Coastal waters of Labakkang, Allometric negative
