The data used in this study uses primary data obtained from direct interviews with the Medan City Government and MSME players related to the E-Catalog program to see how effective this system is in developing existing MSMEs. It is concluded that this e-catalog program has not fulfilled all aspects of the effectiveness of the theory. Where there are 5 theories of the effectiveness of the success of government programs that can be assessed from the success of the program, the success of the target, satisfaction with the program, the level of input and output, and the achievement of overall goals. However, the Medan City Government's program in advancing MSMEs should be appreciated, where this program has a huge impact on increasing MSME turnover and helping several MSMEs survive the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness and accuracy of a demand forecasting based production system to reduce excess stock at the Ayam Geprek Bu Novi culinary business on Jl. Bukit Barisan. Using a quantitative approach, the research applies time series forecasting techniques consisting of Moving Average (MA), Weighted Moving Average (WMA), and Exponential Smoothing (ES). Weekly demand data from February to May 2025 were collected and analyzed to measure prediction accuracy and to evaluate the impact on raw material efficiency. The results show that the 3 week WMA method provides the highest responsiveness to rising demand trends and produces forecasts that are closest to actual sales. In comparison, the 6 week MA method and ES with alpha 0.2 provide more stable performance when demand fluctuations are relatively low. The application of these simple Excel based forecasting models enables micro, small, and medium culinary enterprises (MSMEs) to align production more accurately with actual demand, thereby reducing overstock and improving operational efficiency. This study demonstrates that data driven decision making using easy to use forecasting tools can support MSMEs in optimizing inventory control and maintaining production sustainability. The findings offer practical insights for small fast food businesses that need adaptive inventory management solutions without complex systems or high implementation costs.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in supporting Indonesia's economic growth through job creation, increased community income, and strengthening the local economy. However, limited access to capital, low financial literacy, and business management constraints remain obstacles for some MSMEs in developing their businesses. This study aims to analyze the implementation of productive Islamic financing in supporting MSME development and encouraging increased economic independence for communities in Indonesia using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were obtained from various scientific literature in the form of relevant national and international journals, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods to identify patterns, relationships, and previous research findings related to Islamic financing and MSMEs. The study results indicate that Islamic financing has a positive contribution in helping MSMEs gain access to capital through mechanisms based on the principles of fairness, cooperation, and risk sharing. This financing not only helps increase production capacity and business development but also plays a role in creating sustainable economic independence for communities. Furthermore, the development of financial technology such as Islamic fintech presents new opportunities to expand access to financing for MSMEs. However, the implementation of Islamic financing still faces several challenges, such as low Islamic financial literacy, limited access to formal financial services, and suboptimal business fund management. Therefore, increased financial education, business mentoring, the use of digital technology, and collaboration between the government, Islamic financial institutions, and MSMEs are needed to ensure that Islamic financing can become a more effective, inclusive, and sustainable economic empowerment instrument in Indonesia.

Abstract

The increasing unemployment rate among university graduates in Indonesia highlights the urgent need for higher education institutions to play an active role in fostering entrepreneurship. Business incubators (Inbis) have emerged as strategic initiatives to support students in developing entrepreneurial skills, accessing funding, and establishing sustainable startups. This study examines the role of business incubators in universities and the contribution of Islamic finance in supporting their growth. The research employs a benchmarking method by analyzing incubator programs at Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Findings indicate that university-based business incubators not only facilitate entrepreneurial education but also serve as financial and networking hubs that connect startups with potential investors. Additionally, Islamic finance provides alternative funding models, such as mudharabah and musyarakah, ensuring ethical financial practices that align with Sharia principles. The integration of business incubators and Islamic finance strengthens the entrepreneurial ecosystem in higher education, fostering financial independence among graduates while contributing to national economic development.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the Islamic financial industry has increased the demand for graduates with competencies in Sharia Insurance. However, Generation Z’s interest in choosing the Islamic Insurance Study Program and pursuing careers in the sector remains relatively limited. This study aimed to explore how Generation Z’s interest develops and identify the factors influencing their educational and career decisions through the perspective of the Theory of Planned Behavior. An exploratory qualitative approach was employed using focus group discussions involving fifteen participants selected through purposive sampling, consisting of prospective students, current students, and fresh graduates of the Islamic Insurance Study Program. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through data reduction, coding, categorization, and theme development. The findings reveal that interest develops progressively across three stages: awareness, study-to-career transition, and career realization. At the awareness stage, educational interest is influenced by literacy, information exposure, and career perceptions. During university, practical learning experiences, competency development, and career exploration shape students’ career interests, while among graduates, career realization is characterized by adaptability and flexible career orientations. The findings indicate attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control interact dynamically in influencing educational and career decisions.
