Abstract

This research aims to find out the types of code-mixing used by the lecturer in English class. This research used both Qualitative methods. The subject in this research is the lecturer and the first yearof science students at CokroaminotoPalopo University. The instruments of this research are observation sheet and recorder. The result of this research shows that there are three types of code-mixing found in the lecturer’s utterances during the English teaching-learning process. They are Intra sentential, intra lexical, and involve a change of pronunciation and the results showed that the most frequent is intra sentential.

Abstract

TOEFL merupakan tes kompetensi Bahasa Inggris meliputi Listening, Structure, dan Written Expression serta  Reading Section. Biasanya dibutuh untuk kepentingan tertentu seperti mendaftar sebagai mahasiswa baru, mendapatkan beasiswa dan lain sebagainya. Namun, tidak sedikit peserta tes bisa melalui syarat dan standar nilai yang ditentukan maka dari itu tim dosen Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris  mengadakan pelatihan dan simulasi tes TOEFL bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Kegiatan ini bertujuan sebagai upaya mempersiapkan para siswa tersebut mengikuti tes TOEFL kedepannya. Selain dari itu, melalui tes ini, juga memperkenalkan kepada siswa bagaimana cara mengerjakan soal-soal  dengan trik-trik tertentu dengan batasan waktu yang telah ditentukan. Dari hasil kegiatan ini, seluruh peserta sangat senang dan antusias terlihat dari sambutan dari awal hingga berakhirnya kegiatan pelatihan ini. Dilihat dari nipai, ditemukan bahwa beberapa siswa mampu mendapatkan nilai Reading cukup memuaskan. Walaupun tes ini adalah termasuk hal yang pertama bagi mereka dan belum mencapai target yang semestinya namun setidaknya menjadi pengalaman terbesar dan berkesan dalam mengerjakan tes TOEFL. Diharapkan kedepannya para siswa lebih giat lagi dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pemahaman Bahasa Inggris mereka sehingga bisa menguasai seluruh skill dan mendapatkan  nilai tes yang memuaskan.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a health issue characterized by an uneven distribution of cases across Luwu Regency; consequently, regional grouping is required to assist in prioritizing management efforts. This study aims to classify the distribution of ARI cases using the K-Means Clustering method and to visualize the results via an ArcGIS Online-based digital map. A quantitative method with a spatial-descriptive approach was employed, utilizing data on the number of ARI cases across 22 districts in Luwu Regency from 2023 to 2025, obtained from the Luwu Regency Health Office. The research process involved data collection and processing, the determination of three clusters (low, medium, and high) using the K-Means method, and the visualization of clustering results through ArcGIS Online. The findings demonstrate that the K-Means method effectively grouped districts into three categories based on the similarity of ARI case counts, while ArcGIS Online successfully presented an interactive digital map that facilitates the identification of the spatial distribution of ARI cases. Thus, the developed system provides easily understandable spatial information and supports monitoring, decision-making, and the formulation of ARI management strategies in Luwu Regency.
