Abstract

Easy community life, both in terms of economic, social, educational, and others, is the purpose of designing and constructing access roads or connecting roads. In addition, road design must consider safety aspects to achieve safe, balanced, and sustainable road performance. In this study, a manual horizontal alignment road design was carried out to link the road of Jalan Plupuh Tanon and Jalan Gabugan Sragen Section 1 from STA 0 + 000 to STA 2 + 257,221 with the planning of three bend points guided by Highway Design Standard of Indonesia 2021. Primary data in the form of coordinates and contours are taken from Google Earth and the Global Mapper. The design starts by managing primary data and calculating the elements that make up the horizontal alignment so that a road with a design speed of 30 km/h is obtained, the value of e = 8%, and a radius of 200 m. Three horizontal alignment points use a Spiral-Circle-Spiral (SCS) arch with an intermediate curve (Ls) value of 38 m and a circular arch (Lc) of 44.229 m, respectively.

Abstract

Highways are needed because they are the most widely used transportation infrastructure to support the economy and daily human activities that function to pass traffic on it quickly, safely, and comfortably. In today's world of rapid digital improvement, road planning using AutoCAD Civil 3D® results in a more efficient, accurate, and time-saving road planning process than road planning using manual methods. The horizontal alignment of the road determines the location of the road in question. The horizontal alignment has three geometric components: tangent, curve, and transition between straight line and arch. The purpose of writing this paper is to plan the geometric road on the North Ring Road section Jalan Garuda - Jalan Moh. Hatta in the northern area of Tasikmalaya, West Java. The road is planned to add land transportation facilities and connect the Cibeureum District - Cipedes District. The length of the road section is 1016 m or 1,016 km (STA 0+000 – STA 1+016.79).

Abstract

Horizontal alignment belongs to the aspect of the geometric design of the road. Jalan Subang - Cikamurang, located in Indramayu, West Java, is planned to have three horizontal alignments. This design aims to connect Subang and Cikamurang to shorten the travel time for the surrounding community's needs. This research uses the Bina Marga method, referring to the 2021 Road Geometric Design Guidelines. First, road traffic data is obtained from the google earth application and then processed with a manual method to determine the coordinates of the road traffic and the location of horizontal alignment. Then the data obtained is processed by referring to the Bina Marga method to design horizontal alignment. Jalan Subang - Cikamurang is a Primary Local Road (Arterial Road), Primary Collector, and class III C road type. Three horizontal alignments with Spiral-Circle-Spiral (SCS) type, the first horizontal alignment is at STA 0+544.018 – 0+819.445, the second horizontal alignment is at STA 1+224.778 – 1+474.695, and the third horizontal alignment is at STA 1+763 – 2+164.390.

Abstract

Transport is the key to any country's development; thus, roads, railways, airways, and waterways have been developed for rapid urbanization and mobility. Nevertheless, many cities in the world are facing uncontrolled growth in traffic volumes, one of which is congestion. Traffic congestion is one of the most severe problems in many cities worldwide. This problem is even more pronounced in developing countries due to the rapid population and economic growth. Population and economic growth promote the expansion of urban areas and the use of cars, which leads to traffic jams. The level of road service, delays, and queue length cause congestion. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of road service due to crossing a railway plot. The method used in this study is a direct observation or survey method, which directly calculates the volume of the vehicle, the length of delay, and the actual queue length of the field. Based on the results of research conducted on the Cisauk Highway regarding the level of road service due to the closure of the train door bars, it was concluded that the Cisauk Highway obtained a Level of Service (LoS) value of 1,674, categorized as F with the definition of forced current conditions, low speed, volume above capacity, and long queues (traffic jams). The researchers also obtained the results of the most comprehensive delay survey at 18.23 of 223 seconds, with the most extended queue length of 524 meters for the Serpong direction and 267 meters for the Cisauk direction.

Abstract

Highways are the central infrastructure that supports land transportation. Therefore, the highway strongly supports various activities and human needs in land mobilization so that it can achieve its goals both in economic and non-economic terms. In particular, on some highways, there is a system that divides the road into two special lanes: the frontage road and the fast lane. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the frontage road on Jalan Margonda Raya, Depok. The data retrieval method is to survey directly and retrieve data through CCTV during peak hours on the road. From the results of this study, the average speed of a motorcycle is 26.625 km / h, which is below the standard free current speed based on the 1997 MKJI of 32.64 km / h, while the average speed of light vehicles (angkot) is 9.9375 km / h, which is below the standard free current speed based on MKJI 1997 which is 41.48 km / h and also obtained a saturation degree value of 1.1105 which means that the frontage road on Jalan Margonda Raya has a Level of Service F value. Therefore, it can be concluded that the frontage road on Jalan Margonda Raya has conditions of forced current, low speed, volume above capacity, and long lines (traffic jams).

Abstract

An intersection is the confluence of different directions of the road. In general, traffic conflicts often occur in intersectional areas. Congestion can occur due to the dense volume of vehicles and the absence of traffic lights. This study aims to determine the performance of an uncited intersection in accommodating vehicles passing through it. What this means is that this unlicensed interchange does not cause congestion due to the irregularity of the driver of the vehicle. Primary data collection in this study was carried out directly, namely recording the size of the road width at the intersection and taking survey data on the number of vehicles directly at the intersection. After analyzing the calculation results, it was found that the road capacity value (C) was obtained at 3469 pcu/hour. This value is below the maximum base capacity (Co = 5144.42 smp/h). Based on the results of calculation analysis from survey data, it shows the value of the degree of saturation (DS) of 0.67 sec/pcu. If the degree of saturation (DS) is <0.70, then the degree of saturation at the intersection falls into the low category. In the calculation obtained, the probability of queuing at the intersection (QP) is 19 - 38%.
