Abstract

Kata Kunci : Puyuh jantan; limbah rumput laut; produksi karkas.ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the effect seaweed by product powder for the carcass production of male quail. The material used is a male quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica 160 head age of 6 weeks with an average body weight of 120.92 ± 0.48 g. Ration composed of yellow corn, rice bran, soybean meal, fish meal, PMM, premix, coconut oil, seaweed by product powder. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments 5 replications, T0: feed 0% seaweed by product; T1: feed 5% seaweed by product; T2: feed 7.5% seaweed by product; T3: feed 10% seaweed by product. The results showed that treatment significantly (P<0.05) to the final body weight and carcass weight but no significant (P> 0.05) on carcass percentage. The conclusions of this research is the used of seaweed by product powder above 5% decreased final body weight and carcass weight.Key words : male quail; seaweed by product; carcass production.
