<![CDATA[Abstract: Karie Beureat or Laylatul Bara’ah tradition of Aceh Jaya community research aims to introduce regional traditions to students, understand the phenomena that occur in the surrounding environment so that they can minimize the negative effects of globalization which are increasingly difficult to contain and instill self-character such as religion, mutual coorperation and concern for others. The focus of research study is students of SMP N 2 Aceh Jaya, Aceh Jaya district of Aceh Province. This research uses library research method. The results obtained in this study indicate that the Karie Beureuat tradition of Aceh Jaya has great potential as a source of social studies learning, especially in Aceh because the value of this tradition has a very deep religious value so that it can shape the religious character of students other than those obtained from the family especially in the face of the globalization now and in the future later.Abstrak: Penelitian tradisi Karie Beureuat atau Laylatul Bara'ah masyarakat Aceh Jaya sebagai sumber pembelajaran IPS, bertujuan untuk mengenalkan tradisi daerah kepada peserta didik, paham terhadap fenomena-fenomena yang terjadi di lingkungan sekitar sehingga dapat meminimalisir efek negatif globalisasi yang semakin sulit dibendung dan menanamkan karakter diri seperti religi, gotong royong dan kepedulian terhadap sesama. Fokus kajian penelitian adalah peserta didik di SMP N 2 Aceh Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Jaya Provinsi Aceh. Peneltian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan (library research). Adapun hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini menunjukkan tradisi Karie Beureuat masyarakat Aceh Jaya mempunyai potensi besar sebagai sumber pembelajaran IPS terutama di Aceh karena nilai tradisi ini mempunyai nilai religi yang sangat dalam sehingga dapat membentuk karakter religi peserta didik selain yang diperoleh dari keluarga terutama dalam menghadapi globalisasi saat ini dan yang akan datang.]]>
