Abstract

One aspect of development in early childhood education is the cognitive aspect. The characteristics of cognitive development in children aged 2-6 years are that children will comment on stories that are read to them, children start reading simple books, children can retell what the teacher has told them even though it is not optimal and children want to know a lot about what that he saw. Also the curiosity of children to listen to fairy tales, and to see how to play hand puppets, as well as children begin to know abstract images on hand puppets. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the storytelling method using hand puppets to improve cognitive abilities in children at Hosiana Tumatangtang Kindergarten. While the research method used is classroom action research according to Kemmis and Mc. Taggart in Utami, et al (2013: 295) which consists of the stages of Planning, Implementation, Observation and Reflection. The target object of this research is children in the Hosiana Tumatangtang Kindergarten, totaling 12 children. In the first cycle the results achieved were 41.6%, while the results in the second cycle were 83.33%. Based on the conclusion of the research results that the use of hand puppets to improve children's cognitive abilities in children's learning activities is very important and very suitable for use in children aged 5-6 years. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded as follows: that the application of the storytelling method through hand puppets to improve cognitive abilities in children at Hosiana Tumatangtang Kindergarten. The results of the study showed that in cycle I, only 5 children were able to achieve the learning objectives and there was an increase in cycle II which becomes 10 children who have achieved learning goals.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to recognizenumbers 1-10 through the media of natural objects in group A children of TK LPM Goin west Halmahera. The beckground of this research problem is the lack of untilization of natural objects for counting and number recognition activities. This type of research is classroom action research ( CAR), taking the background of Tk Lpm Goin West Halmahera Barat. Data collection is done by observation and documentation. The data obtained were analized by reducing the data, and displaying the data. The results showed: increasing the ability to recognize numbers 1-10 through the media of natural objects in group A children of TK LPM West Halmahera. Student learning outcomes have increased from cycle I and cycle II. By using natural obects media, children’s learning outcomes increase and are included in the good category. This is also indicated by an increase in each cycle is 50%, the second cycle is 90%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve cognitive abilities through recognizing numbers 1-20. The method used is the arithmetic bowling method, all children are given the opportunity to play this game. To obtain data in this research the author uses the Class Action Research (CAR) method. This type of research uses the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart quoted Aqip Zainal (2006:31) which consists of 4 stages, namely: 1. Planning, 2. Implementation, 3. Observation, 4. Reflection. In the first cycle of research, it has not yet achieved complete learning, only getting a percentage of 61.1%. And in the second cycle of research, the percentage of children’s achievement increased by 33.3%. So the level of achievement of the percentage of children from cycle I to cycle II increased to 94.4%. In this research, there is still 1 child who has not yet achieved complete learning, so the researcher does remedial action on the child so that he no longer continues in the next cycle of research. Thus, from the results obtained, it means that the purpose of this research has been declared successful. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the method of applying bowling arithmetic through recognizing numbers 1-20 can improve students’ cognitive and learning outcomes. Thus the use of the method of applying arithmetic bowling is proven to be able to improve children’s cognitive abilities through recognizing numbers.

Abstract

This study aims to improve children's fine motor skills through the activity of writing the name letters of each child at Kindergarten Imanuel Kedi Halmahera Barat. The background problem of this study is the lack of writing activities to improve children's fine motor skills. In this study the authors used Classroom Action research ( PTK) through 2 cycles through planning, implementation, observation and reflection activities, by taking problems at Kindergarten Imanuel Kedi Halmahera Barat. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and documentation. The data obtained was analyzed by reducing data. The research results showed that the activity of writing name letters each child can improve the fine motor skills of children in Kindergarten Imanuel Kedi Halmahera barat. this can be seen from the development of students who have experienced an increase from Cycle I of 45.6% and Cycle II of 100%. It can be said that the category is good. This can be seen when the process of learning activities to write the letters of each child's name, children are able to move their fingers and coordinate their eyes.

Abstract

Tujuan dilaksanakan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatlan kreativitas membuat bentuk ikan melalui penggunaan media tutup botol. Tujuan penelitian iniyaitu untuk medeskripsikan penggunaan media tutup botol dapat meningkatkan kreativitas anak membuat bentuk ikan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dilaksanakan dua kali siklus dengan langkah-langkahnya yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah anak TK Harapan Internastional School (HIS) kelompok B yang berjumlah 20 orang anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan catatan lapangan serta analisa data menggunakan teknik penilaian di TK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siklus I 60 % dan siklus II mengalami peningkatan setelah dilakukan perbaikan menjadi 100%. Diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Kreativitas membuat bentuk ikan pada anak anak di TK Harapan International School (HIS) Kecamatan Mapanget Kota Manado dapat ditingkatkan Karena itu disarankan agar guru-guru TK menggunakan media penutup botol dalam meningkatkan kreativitas anak

Abstract

This research was carried out at the GMIM Nazaret Matani Tomohon Kindergarten with a background of problems such as children's fine motor skills which are still low which is indicated by the lack of children's skills in sewing activities on cardboard, namely the speed of eye and hand coordination is not yet balanced, children are not yet able to hold and insert threads into the stitching holes. appropriate and the child has not been able to complete the sewing task to completion. To overcome this problem, researchers used the demonstration method in the classroom learning process. This research aims to improve children's fine motor skills through sewing activities on cardboard at the GMIM Nazaret Matani Tomohon Kindergarten. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with 4 stages, namely: 1. Planning, 2. Class Action, 3. Observation, 4. Reflection using two cycles. The subjects of this research were 13 group B children. The research results obtained in cycle I were with a percentage of 30.77% and in cycle II there was an increase with a percentage of 84.61%. The conclusion of this research is that the use of the demonstration method in learning activities to sew on cardboard at the GMIM Nazaret Matani Tomohon Kindergarten can improve children's fine motor skills. And it is recommended for kindergarten teachers to improve the quality of learning by using demonstration methods in implementing learning in kindergarten to support the student learning process.

Abstract

Guru perlu memperhatikan setiap proses perkembangan peserta didik demi meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dan membantu peserta didik untuk mencapai setiap tahap perkembangannya dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis analisis proses pembelajaran pada peserta didik di TK Frater Don Bosco Tomohon. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif melalui serangkaian observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa TK Frater Don Bosco menawarkan lingkungan strategis dengan fasilitas dan pendidikan yang mendukung anak-anak. Pendidikan agama, moralitas, rangsangan fisik-motorik, kognitif, bahasa, sosial-emosional, dan seni ditekankan dalam pendekatan holistik pada anak-anak di TK ini. Stimulus kognitif, bahasa, serta perkembangan sosial-emosional anak menjadi fokus utama dalam pengembangan mereka.

Abstract

The problem formulation is how to use the assignment method and aims to determine the increase in children's fine motor skills through picture matching activities in children. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) which seeks to examine and reflect in depth on several aspects of teaching and learning activities, namely children's participation in learning, the way the teacher conveys a lesson. The research subjects were 16 kindergarten children from group B2. Research data on fine motor skills was collected using observation techniques. Data from descriptive research and quantitative analysis methods. The research results in cycle I did not reach the standard of learning completeness, only reaching 37.5%, while in cycle II it had reached the standard of learning completeness, namely 87.5%. So it was concluded that there was an increase of 50% in improving the fine motor skills of children in group B2 in the 2017/2018 school year at GMIM Sion Tomohon Kindergarten after using picture media in matching activities

Abstract

This research aims to improve the 4C (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) abilities of children aged 5-6 years by using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. This research uses a type of classroom action research using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model through 4 stages, namely: 1) planning, 2) Action, 3) Observation, and 4) Reflection. The subjects in this research were children aged 5-6 years at GMIM Sion Tomohon Kindergarten with a total of 23 children. The data collection technique uses observation and non-test techniques which are used to measure the creativity of children aged 5-6 years, namely batik work using natural papaya leaves using the ecoprint technique. Data collection instruments use observation assessments (attitude assessments), work skills assessments work results assessment instruments, as well as questionnaires for assessing children's developmental achievements. The data analysis used in this research is quantitative and qualitative, namely simple descriptive statistics, the data reduction process, data presentation, and conclusion are carried out in the qualitative analysis process. The research results show that there is an increase in the 4C (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) abilities of children aged 5-6 years through the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. This is proven by the activities of teachers and children who support the 4C indicators.
