Abstract

Pemberian terapi dilakukan selama 14 hari. Kadar glukosa darah puasa diukur menggunakan glukometer Autocheck. Data kadar glukosa darah dianalisis dengan metode analisis pre and post test menggunakan metode Anova One-Way. This study was conducted to determine the potential and effectiveness of the ethanol extract of awar-awar leaves (Ficus septica Burm.F) as antidiabetic in wistar strain male rats with type II diabetes mellitus. Modeling diabetic animals is done by inducing glucose by oral at a dose of 20 g/kgBB 3 times a day for 21 days and given a diet high in carbohydrates and fats. Blood glucose levels were measured every week until fasting mouse blood glucose levels were obtained> 135 mg/dL. The rats were then divided into 6 groups, namely the normal group, the negative control group, the positive control group, the dose group I was diabetic rats given therapy of awar-awar leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 100 mg/kg, the dose group II was diabetic rats given ethanol extract therapy awar-awar leaves with a dose of 200mg/kgBB, and the dose III group were diabetic rats given therapy of awar-awar leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 400mg/kgBB. Giving therapy is carried out for 14 days. Fasting blood glucose levels were measured using Autocheck glucometer. Blood glucose level data were analyzed using the pre and post test analysis method using the One-Way Anova method. The results showed that the Awar-awar leaf ethanol extract at doses of 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg had the potential to reduce blood glucose levels and a dose of 100 mg/kg showed effectiveness comparable to glibenclamide in reducing blood glucose levels. Awar-awar leafes of ethanol extract has the potential and effectiveness in reducing blood glucose levels. Keywords: Ficus septica Burm. F; antidiabetic; blood glucose levels
