Abstract

This research aims to analyse efficiency of rice cultivation at Grobogan regency. This regency was chosen as the research area because it gave major contribution in the rice crop in Central Java province and it has become national food stock. There are three efficiency analyses: technical, allocative, and economic analyses. The result showed that the farmers in Grobogan regency were still not efficient both technically and economically in growing the rice. The inefficiency was driven due to the overuse of input. The excessive use of production factor caused the decrease of soil quality. It then made the production of the crop less optimal. Besides, the use of excessive inputs caused decreasing return to scale because of the generated marginal output was less than the marginal input.

Abstract

Banjarnegara Regency has the highest potato productivity in Central Java Province. However, not all sub-districts in Banjarnegara produce potatoes, there are only four from 20 Sub-districts. One of them is Batur sub-district. This study chose Batur sub-district because it is the largest producer of potatoes from three Sub-districts in Banjarnegara. Unfortunately, the huge amount of production did not affect the fluctuation which tended to decrease. Through this problems, this study aimed to determine the determinant of production and income analysis of potato farming in Batur sub-district. The sample of this study were 97 people in Batur sub-district selected from calculation by using the Slovin formula. Then, the variables of this study were land area (X1), labor (X2), fertilizer (X3), pesticides (X4) and production yields (Y). To collect the data, this study used questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed by using multiple regression analysis and R / C ratio analysis. The results showed that the variables of land area, fertilizer, and pesticides had positive and significant influence on potato production. Meanwhile, the labor variable was insignificant by having the return to scale value of 0.89. Further, the average income of potato farming was Rp 7,099,612 / planting season with R / C ratio of 1.77. Shortly, potato farming in Batur sub-district is profitable to continue.

Abstract

This study analyzes the determinants of labor absorption in Eastern Indonesia (KTI) during the 2019-2024 period using a quantitative approach with panel data regression method. The results of the model specification test indicate that the Random Effect Model (REM) is the best model applied in this study. Overall, the independent variables, including Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), Investment, and Average Length of Schooling, simultaneously have a significant influence on labor absorption in KTI. Partially, GRDP (X1) is proven to have a positive and significant effect on labor absorption, indicating that increased economic activity and production drive the demand for labor. The Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) (X2) shows a negative and significant effect on labor absorption, which can be explained by the increase in operational costs for companies, especially in labor-intensive sectors. Investment (X3) has a positive and significant effect on labor absorption, affirming its vital role in creating employment through increased production capacity and innovation. Lastly, Average Length of Schooling (X4) also significantly contributes positively to labor absorption, highlighting the importance of improving human resource quality through education to produce a more competitive workforce. The contribution of all independent variables in explaining the variation in labor absorption is 78.04%. This research emphasizes the importance of monitoring variables such as GRDP, UMP, Investment, and Average Length of Schooling in relation to labor absorption in Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

Glucose is one of the important sources of energy in the body. To know the glucose level in the human body, it can be known through a glucose test. The purpose of checking the blood sugar test is one of the anticipations of contracting the chronic disease Diabetes Mellitus, especially for the elderly. The Timed Blood Sugar test method was a strip method. The blood sugar test uses participant blood samples which will then be tested for glucose levels on the glucose meter. There were around 30 participants who took the blood sugar test. The results of the Blood Sugar Test showed that 8 out of 10 male were ≤ 200 mg/dl with 2 of them in the range of ≥ 200 mg/dl. While the results of the examination of 20 women showed that 15 were in the range of ≤ 200 mg/dl and 5 of them were in the range of ≥ 200 mg/dl. It can be concluded that there are 7 out of 30 participants who are in a condition of high blood sugar levels.
