Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan secara konferehensif terhadap peranan kepustakaan terhadap pembinaan minat baca yang sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip yang telah ditentukan. Yang nantinya bisa diterapkan secara operasional dan bahkan menumbuhkan minat baca secara signifikansi. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat studi kepustakaan (library research) yang menggunakan buku-buku atau literatur yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini untuk dijadikan sebagai objek utama penalitian, yang kemudia dianalisis secara deskriptif induktif untuk memberikan sebuah gambaran dengan jelas, objektifitas, dan sitematismengenai peranan kepustakaan terhadap pembinaan minat baca. Dari hasil pembahasan  penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, kurangnya maraknya  ditemukan di kalangan masyarakat dalam minat baca bahkan masyarakat tidak mau membaca dan mencari informasi mengenai sesuatu, padahal dengan perkembangan teknologi mudahnya untuk mengakses bahan bacaan deberbagai tempat misalnya diperpustakaan supaya menjadikan masyarakat yang cerdas dalam perihal membaca. Namun hal in memiliki faktor secara internal maupun eksternal, atau disebut juga dengan istilah tranpormatif.

Abstract

Digital libraries have become a strategic component in supporting the transformation of higher education, including at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This study aims to explore user experiences in accessing and utilizing digital library services, particularly in the context of technology integration and user interaction. Using a qualitative exploratory approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 20 students from various academic programs. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns of experience, perceptions, and challenges faced by users. The findings indicate that digital libraries provide ease of access, support for academic tasks, and enhance students' information literacy. However, several obstacles remain, such as limited digital collections, technical issues, and a lack of interactive guidance. These results highlight the importance of strengthening technological infrastructure, improving the quality of digital services, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to optimize the role of digital libraries in the digital transformation of higher education. This study offers both conceptual and practical contributions to the development of more responsive and user-centered library service strategies.

Abstract

Modern libraries are undergoing a significant transformation along with the development of digital technology. This research aims to examine the role of technological innovation in transforming conventional library service systems into digital-based services that are more efficient and adaptive to the needs of modern society. The method used is descriptive qualitative through a literature review that collects data from various scientific sources. The analysis focused on the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing, and their impact on collection management, information access, and user interaction. The results of the study show that technology provides various benefits, such as increased operational efficiency, easier access to information, and more personalized services. However, the application of technology also faces challenges, such as limited infrastructure, data security, and digital skills. To optimize its use, cross-sector collaboration, librarian training, and policies that support digital inclusion are needed. This research confirms that libraries that are adaptive to technology will be better able to meet the needs of people in the information age and act as centers of inclusive and sustainable digital literacy.
