Abstract

Background: Stunting prevention can be accomplished in prewedding services for prospective brides based on the latest regulations regarding the acceleration of stunting reduction. Sleman Regency, as one of the focus locations for the intervention of stunting, has institutions that are involved in the service of prospective brides, i.e. institutions in the field of health, religion, and family planning. This new policy is a challenge because the existing programs in these institutions have not utmostly directed the prevention of stunting. There is a suggestion from the academic side to develop pre-conception integrated services causes be necessary to explore the early acceptance of Sleman Regency stakeholders. Objective: This study aimed to explore the potential in Sleman Regency to develop the pre-conception integrated services, including the early acceptance of stakeholders. Methods: A qualitative approach with a descriptive-exploratory design is used in this study by determining subject by purposive sampling. Research was conducted in Sleman and Mlati Sub-district. Data collection using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observation and document studies using the framework analysis method as a technique in analyzing the data. Results: There are various things behind aspects of stakeholder acceptance, i.e. capacity in the aspect of affective attitudes, the aspect of supportive needs of each stakeholder group, various things that affect the financing aspect, aspects of effectiveness perceived by stakeholders, aspects of stakeholder confidence in participating, and aspects of suitability of the proposed concept with stunting reduction. Conclusion: Stakeholders give a positive response and confidence to participate in pre-conception integrated service. In the future, local governments need to provide policy support to implement pre-conception integrated services as commitment to preventing stunting from upstream. In addition, stakeholders can maximize potential so that pre-conception integrated services can be a solution in improving health status of community.

Abstract

Background: Globally, alcohol use accounts for approximately 3.3 million deaths per year (5.9% of total deaths) and 5.1% disease burden associated with alcohol consumption. Currently, many alcohol abuse occurs in the community that is often known as alcohol abuse. Efforts to minimize the negative impact of consuming alcoholic beverages need to be controlled, supervised, and handling the distribution of alcoholic beverages. Therefore the Government of North Sulawesi issued Local Regulation No. 4 of 2014 on Control and Supervision of Alcoholic Beverages. Objective: This study aimed to see the provision of information and communication related agencies and attitudes implementing in implementing regional regulations number 4 of 2014 on control and supervision of alcoholic beverages. Methods: This research was conducted qualitatively with case study design by snowball sampling method. The number of samples researched as many as 15 respondents. Results: Lack of supervision from the government or related agencies on the control and supervision of alcoholic beverages becomes one of the things to be considered. The provision of information or socialization is conducted erratically and only implemented when there are reports from the public. Communication between relevant agencies is done when it will go down to the field only. The attitude of the policy implementers does not have a neutral attitude towards the community is known there is cooperation between the community with the elements of the relevant agencies to avoid the alcoholic drinks, this becomes the trigger for the community to no longer heed the rules. Conclusion: Implementation of alcoholic beverage control and supervision policy in North Minahasa Regency has not run well and there are still deficiencies and constraints faced. Subsequently, local governments and related agencies should work with communities to improve supervision of the dangers of the effects of alcoholic beverages.

Abstract

Pregnancy health literacy with low birth weight outcome in North Lombok Regency: secondary data analysis of PEER Health SHS-LBW intervention studyPurpose: To analyze the relationship between pregnancy health literacy with low neonatal birth weight.Method: This study is a secondary data analysis of Peer Health study intervention in North Lombok using a nested case control design. This study was conducted on 289 women. The Case group consists of 73 women with LBW and the control group consists of 216 women with non-LBW. Analysis of bivariate results of the study using chi square.Results: The results of this study indicate an association of pregnancy health literacy with LBW. Lesser exposure to pregnancy health information (OR: 2.76, 95% CI: 1.55-4.95) as well as the lesser exposure to pregnancy care (OR: 2.07, 95% CI: 1.16-3.67) associated with the greater LBW birth.Conclusion: The improvement of pregnancy health literacy through health promotion for pregnant women can improve pregnancy health and prevent LBW.
