Abstract

AbstractAbun language is a kind of native language in Tambrauw Regency, West Papua Province. This language belongs to group of Non Austronesia language. This study is qualitative one and using descriptive method in order to get complete description of phonology of Abun language. There are three stages in this study. They are data supplying stage, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis result stage. The aim of this study is to describe Abun phonology, especially phonemes in Abun language as well its distribution and phonotactic. The result shows that Abun language has 26 phonemes which is divided into 16 consonant phonemes and 8 vowels phonemes. Furthermore, Abun language has eight diphtongs and fourteen consonant clusters.Keyword: Abun language, phonology, phonemes, diphtong, consonant clusters.  AbstrakBahasa Abun merupakan salah satu bahasa daerah yang ada di Kabupaten Tambrauw, Provinsi Papua Barat. Bahasa Abun termasuk dalam kelompok bahasa Non Austronesia. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan gambaran lengkap tentang fonologi bahasa Abun. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga tahapan. Ketiga tahapan itu yakni tahap penyediaan data, tahap penganalisisan, dan tahap penyajian hasil analisis data. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan fonologi bahasa Abun, khususnya fonem-fonem bahasa Abun beserta distribusi dan fonotaktiknya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahasa Abun memiliki 26 fonem yang terdiri atas 16 fonem konsonan dan delapan fonem vokal. Di samping itu, bahasa Abun juga memiliki delapan kelompok deret vokal dan 14 kelompok gugus konsonan. Kata kunci: bahasa Abun, fonologi, fonem, deret, vokal, gugus konsonan.

Abstract

Various meaning and definition phrase have been made by various writer, but is not quit of congeniality phrase as a group word. In consequence, phrase basically [is] word group. If/When seen from facet forming [of] phrase, can be said that [by] phrase [is] word [relation/link] with word and word with suprasegmental elements and also situation that [do] not exceed subjek function boundary and predikat in clause. Thereby, phrase to represent word corps ( word with word, word with suprasegmental elements and situation) representing part of which not yet complete in a[n broader tuturan namely discourse and sentence (Fautngil,1997:5). Phrase only filling one function in clause. To strengthen clarification above cited one congeniality [of] phrase supporting [it] made by Elson Pickket and ( 1976: 73), namely " Phrase composed unit a in A, potentially, words more or two or, typically which but, always note but, level clouse a of slot fills." Implicit here congeniality that frase only have potency [to] consist of two word or more and clearly [do] not exceed clause characteristic namely only one function except predikat [relation/link] and object in consequence phrase to represent gatra filler in clause. This congeniality [is] weared as basis for identify phrase in this research analysi.  Starting from theory weared in this research namely analyse tagmemik, hence discussion hereinafter will be divided into function analysis, category, and role of[is each phrase interior.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the forms of masculinity and unveils the puspose behind its portrayal in The Story of Jan Dara by Utsana Phleungtham. The research employs a descriptive-qualitative method and a textual approach. The data were collected through library research while data analysis was conducted through repeated readings and interpretation of the novel’s narrative and dialogue. The findings reveal that the concept of masculinity is explicitly depicted and represented through social status, bodily gestures, and power relations based on sexuality, in order to maintain masculine domination and the patriarchal system deeply rooted in society. Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bentuk-bentuk maskulinitas seerta menemukan penggambaran maskulinitias tersebut dalam novel The Story of Jan Dara karya Utsana Phleungtham. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pendekatan terhadap teks. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, sementara teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan pembacaan berulang dan interpretasi terhadap narasi dan dialog dalam novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep maskulinitas digambarkan secara gamblang dan direpresentasikan melalui status sosial, gestur tubuh, serta relasi kuasa berbasis seksualitas guna tetap menjaga dominasi maskulin dan sistem patriarki yang telah mengakar dalam masyarakat.
