Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi masalah hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS yang masih tergolong rendah, hal ini dapat dilihat dari data nilai rata-rata siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas VIII.A yaitu 33,56 yang masih belum mencapai batas nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) yaitu 70. Dalam proses pembelajaran guru bertindak sebagai satu-satunya sumber informasi, dimana pembelajaran hanya berorientasi atau berpusat pada guru (teacher centered approach). Hal ini membuat pembelajaran IPS terasa membosankan dan membuat siswa merasa lesu untuk belajar sehingga berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa yang dapat dilihat dari rata-rata nilai siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS yang masih belum mencapai batas nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM). Jenis penelitian ini penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Seluma yang berjumlah 163 orang dan yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII.A yaitu berjumlah 33 orang. Alat pengumpulan datanya adalah tes (pre-test dan post-test). Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t berpasangan (paired t-test) untuk pengaruh Pendekatan Kontekstual (Contextual Teaching and Learning/ CTL) terhadap hasil belajar IPS. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap hasil belajar IPS di SMP Negeri 14 Seluma. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji thitung = 9,44 < ttabel α 5% = 2,036.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan faktor yang sangat penting dalam pembangunan bangsa, pendidikan berfungsi untuk mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan serta meningkatkan mutu kehidupan dan martabat manusia. Pendidikan di sekolah-sekolah telah menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan pesat dalam berbagai bidang termasuk pada bidang kurikulum. Dalam kegiatan proses pembelajaran, kurikulum sangat dibutuhkan sebagai pedoman untuk menyususn target dalam proses belajar mengajar. Pendidikan tidak lepas dari kuriukulum, karena kurikulum merupakan suatu program yang direncanakan dan dilaksanakan untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman. Hal ini sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan. Kurikulum yang awalnya dipandang sebagai kumpulan dari mata pelajaran kemudian berubah makna menjadi kumpulan semua kegiatan atau semua pengalaman belajar yang diberikan kepada peserta didik dalam rangka mencapai tujuan pendidikan.

Abstract

Islamic education has a very important role in shaping the character and morals of individuals, as well as in developing quality human resources. Evaluation of Islamic educational institutions is one of the most crucial aspects in efforts to improve the quality of Islamic educational institutions as a whole. This article discusses the importance of institutional evaluation in Islamic education to measure the extent to which institutions can fulfill the vision, mission, and goals of Islamic education. Evaluation does not only cover academic aspects, but also character, morals, management, curriculum, human resources, facilities, and relations with the community. In addition, this article also identifies the basic principles in evaluating Islamic educational institutions, namely objectivity, transparency, and justice. This study uses a library research method by collecting and analyzing related literature, such as books, scientific journals, and academic articles. The results of the study indicate that evaluation of Islamic educational institutions functions as a tool for continuous improvement, supports accountability, and adapts the curriculum and learning methods to the needs of the times. In addition, the role of leaders in the evaluation process is vital to ensure the successful implementation of the evaluation. It is hoped that this article can contribute to the development of an effective and efficient institutional evaluation system in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the definition and characteristics of a qualitative approach in educational research, the basic concepts of qualitative research, its implementation in educational research, the challenges in qualitative educational research, and the contributions and benefits of a qualitative approach. This research is a library research, by searching for and analyzing relevant literature. The method used to collect data is documentation, through archives and books related to theories, arguments, laws, and research issues. From this study, the following results were obtained: First , qualitative research aims to understand the subject's experience through behavior, perception, and action. This is done by describing it using words. In addition, this study also describes and analyzes natural social phenomena and activities. Second, qualitative research uses an inquiry approach to understand certain ideas, symbols, and phenomena. This research has characteristics such as focusing on details, using various methods, and being natural and comprehensive. The quality of the research is presented in narrative form. Third, the application of a qualitative approach in educational research includes the methods used by researchers to collect and explain data. The implementation in educational research includes research planning, data collection techniques, data analysis, and validity and validity. Fourth, Some of the main challenges in qualitative research are researcher subjectivity and interpretative bias, difficulty maintaining data validity and credibility, long-term data collection, complexity of data analysis, limited field access, and difficulty generalizing research results. Fifth, Qualitative research is based on post-positivism, because this method is effective for studying natural objects, which is the opposite of experiments. The purpose of qualitative research can be seen from the description of the research object, revealing the meaning behind the phenomenon, and explaining the phenomena that occur.

Abstract

This study aims to explore data collection strategies in qualitative and quantitative research, with a focus on comparing methods used by academics. In the context of academic research, data collection is a crucial aspect that determines the validity and reliability of findings. This study uses a descriptive-analytical approach by analyzing various academic theses published in 2023. The results show that the qualitative method tends to use in-depth interviews and participatory observation, while the quantitative method predominantly uses surveys and experiments. Furthermore, significant variation was found in the selection of methods, influenced by the field of study and research objectives. This study provides practical insights for researchers in selecting data collection methods that align with their research needs

Abstract

Pembentukan karakter merupakan mandat penting dalam pendidikan Indonesia, namun kemerosotan karakter religius dan moral masih menjadi masalah serius pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi pembiasaan religius dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di SD An-Nur Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap kondensasi, penyajian, dan verifikasi secara interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembiasaan religius diterapkan secara konsisten dan terstruktur melalui kegiatan rutin harian, mingguan, dan program khusus, termasuk tadarus pagi, salat Dhuha dan Dzuhur berjamaah, literasi Islami, salam–senyum–sapa, dan doa bersama. Kegiatan tersebut berdampak signifikan terhadap pengembangan religiusitas, kedisiplinan, sopan santun, dan perilaku sosial siswa. Keberhasilan pembiasaan religius dipengaruhi oleh keteladanan guru, budaya sekolah yang kondusif, dukungan fasilitas, serta peran aktif kepala sekolah. Meskipun efektif, beberapa tantangan muncul, seperti perbedaan latar belakang keluarga, praktik ibadah yang cenderung mekanis, dan keterbatasan keterlibatan orang tua. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembiasaan religius merupakan strategi efektif dalam pembentukan karakter siswa dan memberikan kontribusi teoritis serta praktis bagi penguatan pendidikan karakter berbasis religiusitas di sekolah dasar. Rekomendasi meliputi penguatan kegiatan reflektif, peningkatan keteladanan guru, keterlibatan orang tua, dan evaluasi program secara berkala untuk memastikan internalisasi nilai karakter yang lebih holistik dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Islamic Education (PAI) research increasingly faces complex challenges related to students’ religious attitudes, learning motivation, and diverse socio-religious backgrounds. These issues indicate that PAI phenomena are multidimensional and cannot be adequately understood using a single research approach. This study aims to analyze how mixed methods can be integrated effectively within PAI research in terms of conceptual foundations, research designs, and methodological applications. Using a library research approach, this study collected, classified, and analyzed relevant literature from books, journal articles, and previous studies that implemented mixed methods in Islamic education. The findings show that mixed methods offer comprehensive and adaptive advantages by combining quantitative data, which reveal general patterns of religious understanding and learning outcomes, with qualitative data, which provide deeper insights into students’ spiritual experiences, motivations, and contextual factors affecting their religious behavior. Three dominant designs were identified as most relevant for PAI research: convergent parallel, explanatory sequential, and exploratory sequential. Each design contributes uniquely to strengthening the validity, depth, and interpretive power of research findings. Overall, mixed methods serve as a methodological necessity for studying complex phenomena in Islamic education, enabling holistic, credible, and contextually grounded conclusions.
