Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out whether the application of the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) model was effective and could increase the moral value of honesty. The research design is a classroom action research (CAR) with three cycles. The research subjects were students and teacher in class VIII G students of SMP N 9 in Jambi City. The object of research is the level of student honesty that measured by some questions. The results showed that there are increasing percentage of the average value in each cycle of process. It can be concluded that the use of the VCT model with the help of interactive videos and student worksheets on honesty can increase the value of honesty. Though this increase does not occur evenly in all students and there is some obstacles such as the internet connection when using the video interactive in classroom.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of parent-child communication intensity on the social attitudes of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach using a survey. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression. Sources of data obtained from respondents are 66 students taken by random sampling technique. The occupations of parents of Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 10 Jambi City are: entrepreneur, laborer, security guard, pedicab driver, civil servant, pedicab driver, and housewife. The conclusion of this research is: the intensity of parent-child communication has a significant effect on students' social attitudes in the form of honesty, discipline, courtesy, and tolerance. Low social attitudes can be overcome by establishing intensive communication between parents and children so that children can have an attitude that is in accordance with the norms and rules that apply in the family, school, and community environment.

Abstract

Sikap nasionalisme adalah suatu paham suatu individu ataupun kelompok untuk mencintai suatu bangsa dan tanah air karena memiliki nasib dan tanggungan yang sama. Sikap nasionalisme dalam ruang lingkup yang sempit dapat diartikan suatu rasa kecintaan kepada bangsa serta tanah air sampai akhirnya ia menganggap bangsanya adalah bangsa terbaik dan tidak ada bangsa lain yang lebih baik daripada bangsanya. Sikap nasionalisme dalam artian luas ialah suatu wujud bentuk rasa cinta terhadap tanah air tanpa merendahkan bangsa-bangsa lainnya. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis sikap nasionalisme, khususnya pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahsa Inggris Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Jambi Angkatan 2020. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan desain analisis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan literatur. Sumber data penelitian terdiri dari, sumber primer dan sekunder. Data penelitian yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap nasionalisme mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris berada pada kategori yang buruk dimana mahasiswa/I masih kurang memiliki sikap bangga sebagai bangsa Indonesia, cinta tanah air dan bangsa, rela berkorban demi bangsa, menerima kemajemukan, bangga pada budaya yang beragam, menghargai jasa pahlawan, serta mengutamakan kepentingan umum.
