Abstract

This research is intended to develop writing tasks based on interactive multimedia using Adobe Flash CS3. The objectives of this research are to establish writing tasks based on suitable interactive multimedia for the tenth - grade students and to find out whether the design of interactive multimedia for the tenth - grade students is useful or not in teaching - learning process.This research type is research and development. The data were collected through questionnaires pre - test and post - test. The research procedure has the steps are as follows, the needs analysis phase concerns the collection of the data on the student's needs. The design phase deals with designing the interactive learning media. The development phase affects the development of the first draft of the interactive learning media, asking experts to judge and validate it. Validation involved two kinds of test, namely alpha and beta testing. Alpha testing involved material and content experts, and beta testing involved 19 students. The implementation phase deals with trying - out the interactive learning media in the class. The evaluation phase is where the interactive learning media evaluated through the feedback. Based on the data analysis, the research finding shows that the writing tasks based on interactive multimedia for the tenth-grade students are feasible. Feasibility of the interactive multimedia was very good. Percentage of assessment by the content expert reached 80.56%, the media expert 87% and the English teacher reached 85%, and based on the students' opinion reached 81%. The calculation of T - paired test showed that there was a difference in learning achievement between the pre-test and the post-test score 66.95 to 78.00 or 14.17%. It means that there is an increasing score and this interactive multimedia is effective.

Abstract

Pendidikan bahasa Inggris semakin menjadi elemen penting dalam sistem pendidikan global seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi dan globalisasi. Salah satu tantangan utama dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi yang efektif dan meningkatkan motivasi siswa. Di sisi lain, kemajuan teknologi membuka peluang baru dalam metode pengajaran, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan platform desain kreatif seperti Canva. Canva, sebagai aplikasi desain grafis berbasis web, memungkinkan guru untuk membuat materi pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif, sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris melalui pelatihan desain kreatif menggunakan Canva, yang diharapkan dapat membantu guru menyampaikan materi secara lebih efektif dan menarik. Pelatihan ini difokuskan pada guru di SD Negeri 2 Namang, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan Canva sebagai media pembelajaran. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Canva dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kreativitas guru dalam menyajikan materi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang lebih menarik dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Diharapkan, pelatihan ini dapat mendorong guru untuk lebih inovatif dalam mengimplementasikan teknologi dalam pembelajaran dan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap bahasa Inggris. English language education has become an integral part of global educational systems in response to the rapid advancements in technology and globalization. One of the main challenges in English language learning is developing effective communication skills while increasing student motivation. On the other hand, technological advancements have opened new opportunities for teaching methods, including the use of creative design platforms like Canva. Canva, a web-based graphic design tool, allows teachers to create engaging and interactive learning materials, which can enhance student involvement in the English language learning process. This study aims to optimize English language learning through creative design training using Canva, focusing on helping teachers deliver more effective and engaging lessons. The training, held for teachers at SD Negeri 2 Namang, aimed to enhance their ability to use Canva as a teaching tool. The results show that the use of Canva improved teachers' knowledge and creativity in presenting English language learning materials in a more engaging and student-centered manner. It is expected that this training will encourage teachers to be more innovative in incorporating technology into their teaching practices and improve students' understanding of English.

Abstract

The background of this research is students who experience difficulties in beginning reading. The purpose of this research is to find out what are the difficulties of student in beginning reading for low grade students in elementary schools and what are the causal factors, and what strategies are used by thee teacher to overcome students who have difficulty reading the beginning. This research is a qualitative type. The method used in this research is the literature study method, the object of which is a relevant study in the form of a scientific article. Data collection techniques in this study are in the form of note-taking techniques. The results showed that in beginning reading for low-grade elementary school students there were still many difficulties in beginning reading, after conducting research from several relevant studies in the form of scientific articles that i had identified, several types of initial reading difficulties were found and also the causative factors. The initial reading difficulties and the strategies implemented by teachers to overcome students who experience initial reading difficulties.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of students in writing poetry, the students have difficulty expressing ideas and matching the writing the theme appropriately. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Concept Sentence learning model on the ability of fifih-grede students in writing poetry at SD Negeri 13 Toboali. This study used a quantitative approach with the Quasi-Experimental Design method, with Nonequivalent Control Grup Design. The sampling techique used was saturated sampling. Data collection techninques used interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing used t-test, namely The Polled Variance. Based on the results of the research data analysis obtained by the hypothesis data the value of the tcount is 3.148 an ttable is 2.018. So, it can be concluded that is accepted is rejected. From theses results, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Concept Sentence learning model on the fifih-grade students’ ability in writing poetry at SD Negeri 13 Toboali.
