Abstract

ABSTRAKAnak usia dini (0-6 tahun) memerlukan banyak stimulus perkembangan fisik dan otak hingga mencapai titik optimal. Pola kecerdasan pertumbuhan dicerminkan pada tiga macam bagian yaitu IQ, EQ, dan SQ. Anak-anak usia dini pada pemusatan belajar Arena Belajar KIDS masih memiliki kecenderungan untuk bermain gadget hingga lupa waktu. Salah satu solusinya adalah mengajak para siswa untuk menanam cabai di dalam pot. Bahan yang digunakan adalah bibit tanaman cabai merah, media tanam berupa tanah, pasir, dan kompos serta ditambahkan sekam pada permukaan tanah. Rasio antara tanah, pasir, dan kompos yang digunakan adalah 2:1:1 (v/v). Setelah empat bulan sejak acara pembukaan dan penyemaian benih cabai merah, terdapat 21 tanaman yang berhasil tumbuh dengan baik dengan rerata 37,38 cm; 4,5 buah; 44,71 buah secara berturut-turut tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, dan daun pada tanaman. Tingkat keberhasilan program penanaman cabai dalam pot sebesar 70% yang didorong dari hasil verifikasi para wali murid melalui kuisioner. Hasil verifikasi tersebut menyatakan bahwa program menstimulasi motorik anak dengan rerata baik (3,25). Diharapkan kerja sama dengan mitra terus berlanjut yang mengajak para murid untuk lebih peduli dengan lingkungan sekitar, seperti pembuatan kebun sayur terpadu atau perakitan hidroponik sebagi unjuk stimulus motorik pada anak usia dini. Kata kunci: cabai merah; media tanam; kecerdasan; usia dini ABSTRACTEarly childhood (0-6 years) requires additional stimulus for physical and brain development to reach the optimal point. The intelligence growth pattern is reflected in three kinds of parts, namely IQ, EQ, and SQ. Children in the KIDS Learning Arena learning center still have a tendency to play with gadgets so they forget the time. The solution invited children to plant chilies in pots. The materials used are red chili plant seeds, planting media in the form of soil, sand, and compost then rice husk addition on surface level. The ratio between soil, sand, and compost was used at 2:1:1 (v/v). After four months after the opening and seeding of red chilies, there were 21 plants that managed to grow well with an average of 37.38 cm; 4.5 pieces; 44.71 fruit respectively plant height, number of branches, and leaves on the plant. The success rate of the chili planting program in pots is 70% which drove the results by their teacher verification through questionnaires with a good average (3.25). Hopefully, the cooperation will continue to encourage students to care more about its environment, such as building an integrated vegetable garden or hydroponic assembly as a demonstration of motor stimulation in early childhood. Keywords: red chilli; cultivation media; intelligence; child

Abstract

East Kalimantan Province has great opportunities as a buffer for the IKN economy based on the utilization of marine potential. Eucheuma cottonii and Gracilaria sp. are the red seaweeds (Rhodophyta) most widely cultivated in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the proximate content in two types of red seaweed, namely E. cottonii (offshore cultivation) and Gracilaria sp. (pond cultivation) obtained from farmers in dry conditions cultivated around the waters of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The results of the analysis showed significant differences between cultivation locations. Gracilaria sp. (pond cultivation) taken from Handil (HTK) and Babulu Laut (BALUKE) is considered potential because it has low water content (HTK 26.99 ± 0.02%), and has higher ash content (BALUKE 31.18 ± 0.41%), fat (BALUKE 0.36 ± 0.01%), protein (BALUKE 10.01 ± 0.01%), and crude fiber (HTK 1.90 ± 0.16%) compared to E. cottonii. Abstract

Abstrak Salah satu unsur kemajuan peradaban adalah kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh civitas akademik perguruan tinggi dalam hal ini Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), yang secara proaktif memberikan kontribusi perbaikan sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Kampung Nelayan Berdasi adalah mitra pengabdian kampus yang terletak di pesisir Balikpapan Barat. Permasalahan utama mitra yakni kurang termanfaatkannya hutan mangrove sebagai potensi kemajuan wilayah di bidang kebersihan dan wisata. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian yaitu meningkatkan potensi tersebut melalui pengembangan hutan mangrove sebagai eduwisata dan ekowisata yang terjaga kebersihannya. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dimulai dari survei lokasi dan identifikasi isu, perancangan fasilitas umum, dan laporan dampak kegiatan terhadap masyarakat pengguna yang dilakukan oleh tim selama 5 bulan, Januari hingga Mei 2024. Pembuatan bank sampah, gapura selamat datang, papan informasi wilayah dan denah rute wisata mangrove, serta jenis, manfaat, deskripsi keanekaragaman flora di wilayah wisata adalah bentuk nyata kegiatan pengabdian sebagai upaya peningkatan desa eduwisata dan ekowisata. Dampak kegiatan terukur dari survei responden warga dengan penilaian pada aspek kesesuaian kegiatan 71,40%, interaksi warga 71,40%, antusiasme warga 64,30%, kepuasan program kerja 78,60%, dan ketepatan waktu program 71,40%. Nilai pada aspek antusiasme warga yang lebih rendah dibandingkan yang lain karena sebagian warga sibuk dengan pekerjaannya masing-masing, sehingga tidak dapat ikut serta berpatisipasi. Meskipun demikian, tim pengabdian telah berhasil menjalankan kegiatan sesuai kebutuhan masyarakat berdasarkan rata-rata nilai aspek keseluruhan sebesar 71,42%. Diharapkan ada program keberlanjutan pemanfaatan mangrove dari segi pascapanen, guna memajukan potensi eduwisata dan ekowisata di Kampung Nelayan Berdasi yang terpantau secara lebih sistematis. Kata kunci: eduwisata; ekowisata; kebersihan; mangrove; nelayan Abstract One of the elements of civilization progress is community service activities carried out by the academic community of higher education, in this case, the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), which proactively contributes to social, economic, and environmental improvement. Kampung Nelayan Berdasi is a campus community service partner located on the coast of West Balikpapan. The main problem of the partner is the underutilization of mangrove forests as a potential for regional progress in the fields of hygiene and tourism. The purpose of the community service activity is to increase this potential through the development of mangrove forests as edu-tourism and ecotourism that are kept clean. The method of implementing community service activities starts from site surveys and issue identification, design of public facilities, and reports on the impact of activities on user communities carried out by the team for 5 months, from January to May 2024. Making waste banks, welcome gates, area information boards, and mangrove tourism route plans, as well as types, benefits, and descriptions of flora diversity in tourist areas are concrete forms of service activities as an effort to improve edu-tourism and ecotourism villages. The impact of activities is measured from a survey of community respondents with an assessment of the suitability of activities 71.40%, community interaction 71.40%, community enthusiasm 64.30%, work program satisfaction 78.60%, and program timeliness 71.40%. The value on the aspect of citizen enthusiasm is lower than the others because some residents are busy with their respective jobs, so they cannot participate. Nevertheless, the service team has succeeded in carrying out activities according to community needs based on the average overall aspect value of 71.42%. It is hoped that there will be a sustainability program for mangrove utilization in terms of post-harvest, to advance the potential for education and ecotourism in Kampung Nelayan Berdasi which is monitored more systematically. Keywords: cleanliness; education; ecotourism; fishery; mangrove

Abstract

Seasoning is a condiment product that is widely used to improve the taste of food, but generally has low nutritional value. The development of seasonings based on food ingredients with high nutritional value is necessary so it is necessary to produce products that not only provide taste, but also better nutritional benefits. Milkfish (Chanos chanos) is a good source of protein and minerals, while Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is rich in dietary fiber and bioactive compounds which have the potential to be used as raw materials for super seasonings. This research aimed to determine the effect of differences in the concentration of milkfish flour and seaweed flour on the physical and sensory quality of super sprinkles and determine the best formula that can be accepted by consumers. This research used an experimental method with four comparison treatments of seaweed flour and milkfish flour, namely F1 (0%: 100%), F2 (20%: 80%), F3 (30%: 70%), and F4 (40%: 60%). The selected super seasoning formula was determined based on hedonic tests and the level of panelist acceptance on the attributes of appearance, color, aroma, taste, texture and colorimetric analysis. The results showed that the difference in concentration of seaweed flour and milkfish flour influenced the level of panelists' acceptance of super seasoning. Formula F2 (20% seaweed: 80% milkfish) is the best formula with the highest taste preference score of 6.88 and obtained the highest average score for all sensory attributes tested. Based on these results, the F2 formula has the potential to be developed as a super product for seasonings that is rich in nutrition and has a good level of consumer acceptance.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat merupakan salah satu unsur Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi bertujuan mendapatkan pengalaman belajar menghadapi permasalahan di masyarakat. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan, permasalahan di RT 28 Sepinggan Raya Kota Balikpapan berupa media tanam yang gersang, yang mana di kelola oleh Kelompok Wanita Tani 28 Sepinggan Raya (KWT 28). Tanaman yang sebelumnya menjadi mati karena kendala pengairan. Selain itu, proses penanaman dan penyiraman tanaman dilakukan secara manual sehingga membutuhkan waktu lebih lama menyebabkan kegiatan tidak efektif. Permasalahan tersebut akhirnya berdampak pada lingkungan yang gersang. Solusi yang diberikan, melakukan penanaman kembali pada media tanah. Agar penanaman berhasil, perlu diperbaiki pengairan dengan cara membuat inovasi alat penyiram tanaman otomatis atau biasa dikenal dengan sprinkler yang terintegrasi dengan sensor digital timer dan alat penanam bibit sesuai ergonomi. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba, air berhasil mengalir menyirami tanaman melalui sprinkler dan terdistribusi secara merata. Sementara pada alat penanam bibit ergonomi dimulai dengan pengukuran data antropometri anggota KWT 28. Pengolahan data antropometri menghasilkan data dimensi Tinggi Siku Berdiri (TSB), Tinggi Pinggang (TPG), Lebar Bahu Duduk (LBD) yang kemudian diolah menggunakan metode Shapiro-Wilk untuk mendapatkan dimensi ukuran alat penanam bibit yang ergonomi.
