Abstract

Mandarin "feichang/shifen" is often used by students who learn foreign languages. However, several misunderstandings can still be found in their usage, especially when translated into Indonesian. For example, "feichang" can only be combined with adjective + noun + noun, but nor for "shifen" and Indonesia "sangat." This research mainly investigates the errors of Indonesian learners in the Chinese proficiency adverbs "feichang" and "shifen" and then propose a more effective teaching design. This research uses a qualitative method, classifying the types of errors and causes of errors using Chinese shifen/feichang on 60 Indonesian students. It is found that the error is mainly because the student's grasp of the Chinese "feichang/shifen" syntax is relatively low and not specific enough. Besides that, the meaning between feichang/shifen and the Indonesian language "sangat" is relatively close. When using meanings containing informal words, "feichang" is more acceptable than "shifen." Finally, the "feichang/shifen" teaching design is proposed through the induction of errors, hoping to provide a more effective "feichang/shifen" learning strategy for Indonesian learners of Mandarin.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student's reading skills and prepare them for the Novice A1 Reading TOCFL (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language) exam. The tool in this study was the TOCFL Reading application which contained 25 practice questions, with the types of questions: answering based on the pictures given & answering based on the questions given. Respondents to this study were 19 students of English literature at Ma Chung University who had only been learning Mandarin for about one year. This research method is the action research method. Students are asked to do exercises in the TOCFL Reading application two times. The results of this study were that after two tests were carried out in class, all students experienced an increase in scores from 4 points to 40 points; this proves that learning with the TOCFL application can help students improve their reading skills and help them prepare for the TOCFL exam.

Abstract

Kemampuan berbahasa sangat berkaitan erat dengan kondisi belajar dan minat belajar, melalui kondisi belajar yang baik serta minat belajar yang tinggi, maka akan meningkatkan hasil belajar yang secara langsung memberi pengaruh terhadap kemampuan belajar seseorang. Pembelajaran bisnis selama ini tidak hanya karena adanya pengaruh negara bahasa tujuan, namun juga karena adanya pengaruh dari kondisi siswa itu sendiri, yang menjadikan si pembelajar semakin serius di dalam menjalankan proses pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Objek penelitian berupa survei mengenai kondisi belajar yang ditujukan terhadap 38 mahasiswa, lalu melalui data hasil ujian mahasiswa dianalisis mengenai hubungan antara kondisi mahasiswa dengan nilai belajar siswa. Melalui hasil ujian ini, didapatkan hasil bahwa kebanyakan mahasiswa menganggap belajar bahasa mandarin bisnis hanya sebatas meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa tanpa mengkaji pada karier, lain hal nya dengan mahasiswa yang memiliki minat belajar bisnis, menunjukkan nilai yang lebih tinggi dibanding dengan mahasiswa lainnya.
