Abstract

The elderly group during the pandemic is the group most at risk of experiencing severity/morbidity and mortality due to Covid-19 disease. This is because elderly patients (geriatric) generally have various comorbidities, such as cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The elderly as a vulnerable group, of course, really need the right information related to Covid-19 with the right media. Media that can be used to provide information on Covid-19 to the elderly are posters and power points. This provision can be done by nurses. This research will be conducted on 50 elderly people at Kelurahan Bendungan Semarang. The study was conducted by measuring the level of knowledge with a knowledge level questionnaire about the problem of covid-19, before and after treatment. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test with control group. The research sample was determined by total sampling with certain criteria, namely: 1) elderly aged 60 years and over, 2) can read, write, communicate well, 3) do not experience sensory, cognitive, and movement disorders, 4) participate in all activities with 100% attendance. The division of the group was 25 people for the intervention group and 25 people for the control group. The provision of posters and PPT media was held 4 times in 4 weeks. This is done in combination because the combination of the two media can increase the level of better knowledge, especially for the elderly who have experienced a decline in function. There is an increase in the level of knowledge from low level 4 people (16%), medium level 15 people (60%), high level 6 people (24%) to low level 1 person (4%), medium level 9 people (36%), high level 15 people (60%).

Abstract

Numerous functional impairments that stroke patients face lead to a decreased quality of life, powerlessness, and suicidal thoughts. Spirituality-based stroke recovery interventions may have mechanisms that aid in the healing process and can help create more thorough and efficient stroke rehabilitation programs. Methodology This study is a review that is systematic. The researchers used Google Scholar databases to look for data sources. The terms "stroke" and "spiritual OR other intervention" are employed, along with "and" recovery results. In the Google Scholar database, 980 journals were located. Just five of the articles overall satisfied the requirements for inclusion. Articles should discuss the effects of any kind of spiritual assistance on stroke sufferers' prognoses. bleeding and ischemic stroke of the older adult variety. Articles must employ RCT, qualitative, experimental, and mixed methods designs. The articles were published in full text and in the English language. Result Increased spirituality, holistic care, improved spiritual health, and higher self-efficacy in self-care were all impacted by the research. Restoring functional independence and faith did not correlate, according to a single study. Conclusion This review demonstrates how faith affects stroke survivors' ability to heal. Abstract

STIKES Kesdam IV/Diponegoro as a higher education institution in the health sector has great potential in contributing to the development of the assisted area, especially through community service in the health sector. Based on the results of interviews with the Division in Charge of the Elderly at Rumpelsos Pucanggading, it is known that most of the elderly experience a decline in cognitive function that has an impact on their quality of life and independence. Managing cognitive impairment in the elderly requires a sustained and stimulation-based approach, such as picture-matching game activities, music therapy, gardening, and spiritual activities. As a form of promotive and preventive intervention, the STIKES Kesdam IV/Diponegoro community service team carried out cognitive stimulation activities through a game of matching pictures to the elderly at Rumpelsos Pucanggading. This activity is designed to stimulate the memory, concentration, and thinking skills of the elderly in a fun and interactive way. Seniors are actively involved in game sessions tailored to their abilities and interests. The results of the activity showed that the elderly responded positively to the games given, with increased participation, enthusiasm, and the ability to recognize and remember images. This intervention is considered effective in helping to maintain and improve the cognitive function of the elderly in a simple but meaningful way. This activity also strengthens the role of universities in supporting community health through educational and humanistic approaches. It is hoped that similar activities can be carried out in a sustainable manner and developed with a variety of other stimulation methods, so as to be able to have a wider impact in maintaining the quality of life of the elderly and preventing progressive decline in cognitive function.
