Abstract

THE EFFECT OF SHADING AND NITROGEN FERTILIZATION ON MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF DWARF ELEPHANT GRASS (Pennisetum purpureum cv. mott). This study was conducted to determine the responses of Dwarf Elephant grass  (P. purpureum cv. Mott.) fertilized with different nitrogen levels and at different shading areas. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in a Factorial arrangement with 2 factors of nitrogen levels and shading areas arranged as follows: factor A = fertilization levels of P1 = without fertilization (0%); P2 = 200 kg urea/ha; P3 = 400 kg urea/ha; and P4 = 800 kg urea/ha; whereas factor B = shasing areas of N1 = no shading area (0%), and N2 = 70% shading area. Variables measured were including leaf length, number of mature leaves, and plant height. Research results showed that plants needed about 200 kg urea/ha in order to achieve maximum leaf length in shaded area;   whereas  plants  within  no  shading area needed about 800 kg urea/ha to achieve maximum leaf length. To achieve maximum number of mature leaves in open area without shading plants needed about 800 kg urea/ha, and no need for nitrogen fertilization in shading area for plants to achieve such a maximum number of mature leaves. The highest plant height was achieved at the level of 400 kg urea/ha fertilization at open area (no shading), and there was no need of nitrogen fertilization for plants in shaded area in order to achieve their  maximum height. It can be concluded that shading positively contributed to the availability of nitrogen to be used by Dwarf Elephant grass (P. purpureum cv. Mott.). In open area without shading, plants need more nitrogen in the form of urea to produce leaf length, number of mature leaves, and plant height compared to shaded area. Keywords: Fertilization, Shading, Elephant Grass, Plant morphology.

Abstract

INFLUENCE OF CONCENTRATION AND SOAKING TIME OF A. pintoi IN THE COW URINE ON PLANT GROWTH. Cow urine has an auksin a, auksin b, and IAA (hetero auksin) that can stimulate plant roots. The present study was conducted to determine the influence of concentration and soaking time in the cow urine on Arachis pintoi (A. pinto) growth. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in Factorial arrangement with 2 factors A and B. Factor A= urine concentration: A1 = urine 75% + water 25% and A2; urine 50% + water 50%; and factor B = soaking time: B1 = 1 hour; B2 = 2 hours; Dan, B3 = 3 hours. Treatments were replicated 4 times. Parameters measured were: leaves amount (sheets), plant length (cm), and root weight (g). Research results showed that mean leaves amount ranged from 41,65 to 46,77 sheets, plant length 35,97-36,67 cm, and root weight 1,95-1,72 g. Utilization of cow urine with a different concentration and soaking time gave a non significant different (P>0.05) on leaves amount, plant length, and root weight. It can be concluded that cow urine concentration and soaking time do not effect leaves amount, plant length, and root weight of Arachis pintoi (A. pinto). Key words:  Cow urine concentration, Soaking time,  A. pintoi.

Abstract

THE EFFECT OF CHICKEN MANURE BOKASHI LEVEL ON GROWTH OF LAMTORO (Leucaena leucocephala). The aim of this experiment was to study the effect  of organic fertilizer Bokashi from chicken manure on performance of Leucaena leucocephala in term of tall of plant, number of compound leaves and number of leaflets. Treatment consisted of four level of bokashi as follows B1 = 0 gram,  B2 = 200 gram, B3 = 400 gram and  B4 = 800 gram bokashi/ polybag.  Design has been used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 replications.  Analysis of variance showed that  level of bokashi at 400 and 800 gram / polybag gave a significant difference (P<0,05) better than others levels in term of tall of plant, number of compound leaves and number of leaflets. Tuckey Simultaneous Test showed that both treatments gave the significant different (P<0,05) higher than others levels. Based on these results it can be concluded that application of 400 gram/polybag  organic fertilizer bokashi chicken manure enough to produce good performance of Lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) in term of tall of plant, number of compound leaves  and number of leaflets. Keywords: Bokashi, leucaena, growth, chicken manure.

Abstract

THE INFLUENCE CHICKEN MANURE BOKASHI ON VEGETATIVE GROWTH OF BROWN MIDRIB SORGHUM (BMR) UNDER SHADE. The aim of this experiment was to study the effects of application of chicken manure bokashi on the vegetative growth of Brown Midrib (BMR) sorghum.  Completely Randomized Design (CRD) has been used according to Steel and Torrie (1995). The treatments were level of chicken manure  bokashi as follows B1= 0 gram; B2= 200 gram; B3= 400 gram and B4=  800 gram/polybag, with 7 replications to form 28 numbers of observations. The variables measured were plant height, leaf number and  length of leaf. Analysis of Variance showed that treatments effected significanly different (P<0.05) on plant height, leaf number and length of leaf. Result of Tuckey Simultenaus Test showed that between treatment B3 and B4 were not significant different (P>0.05) on all variable measured, but both treatments gave a good performance of all variable measured significantly (P<0,05) better than treatments  B2 and B1. Based on this research result it can be concluded that utilization of chicken manure bokashi up to 400 gram/polybag could provide nutrients requirement to support vegetative growth of sorghum BMR in term of height of plant, leaf number and length of leaf. Keywords: Bokashi, chicken manure, growth, BMR sorghum, shaded.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the influence of organizational climate and performance on the job satisfaction of medical workers and medics at the Ciamis District General Hospital. The research uses quantitative research methods and refers to the theory of organizational climate and performance, which has six aspects: structure, standards, responsibility, rewards, support, commitment, and other items ranging from work accuracy, job reviews, etc. The population of this study were employees at the Tasikmalaya and Banjar City General Hospitals. A sample of 98 respondents was taken using proportional random sampling. They were collecting data using a questionnaire designed by the needs of research and observation. The results of this study indicate that the organizational climate and performance have a significant influence on the job satisfaction of medical workers and medics at the Ciamis District General Hospital. On the other hand, the dimensions of the structure, the dimensions of standards and the dimensions of commitment have no significant effect on the job satisfaction of medical workers and medics at the Ciamis District General Hospital. The organizational climate, especially human resources, is still limited at the Ciamis District General Hospital, showing the strength displayed by medical personnel and medical staff, where medical personnel can display ways and strategies in building structure, responsibility, support, commitment with all their subordinates, especially helping provide more effective care for all patients.
