Abstract

This study aimed to describe the appearance of the KIT making, how to use the KIT, and the validation test results for the making of a simple LED spectrophotometer for the analysis of iron metal ions in water. The method used was Design Based Research. This method refers to the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. However, researchers only used the model until the development stage, starting from collecting references (journals), making concept analysis, concept maps, flowcharts, and storyboards, and the validation test of the three validators. The results from the KIT development stage could be carried out well, resulting in a valid product with indicators that include an attractive display of the KIT, easy to use, low cost, and KIT made of safe materials. The results of the validation test obtained an average value of 0.83, greater than the critical value of 0.30. This shows that the simple LED spectrophotmeter experiment KIT is valid for a feasibility test. In learning, the use of KIT refers to the spectrophotometric material which is based on the Lambert-Beer law and the analysis results that will be produced are in the form of a comparison curve of normal intensity with a wavelength in units of nanometers (nm).

Abstract

One of the assessment instruments that can be used to assess the achievement of competence and process skills in practicum activities is performance assessment instrument. The instrument for assessing scientific performance in the practicum of ZnO level analysis in loose powder is needed. This study aimed to describe the appearance of the scientific performance assessment instrument in the form of practicum worksheets and student performance assessment sheets, and to analyze the results of the validation test of the two instruments. This research used the Design Based Research (DBR) method with the stages of analysis and product design development, starting from the analysis of relevant journals, making worksheets and performance assessment sheets, to validation tests for lecturers who are experts in chemistry and learning media. The worksheets consist of discourse, questions before and after conducting the experiment, analyzing the experimental data, concluding the experimental data, and making a report on the results of the experiment. The performance assessment sheets consist of performance assessment aspects, criteria, assessment rubric, and student identity. Based on the data from the validation test results to expert lecturers, valid worksheets and performance assessment were obtained with rcount values of 0.838 and 0.846 respectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to apply Augmented Reality learning media to improve the ability of submicroscopic representation in the material of covalent bond formation based on valence bond theory. Determination of the sample used the pre-experimental method. This research was conducted in the fourth semester using a scientific learning model based on submicroscopic representation. Data collection techniques used the pre-test and post-test questions with 20 multiple choice questions through the LMS (Learning Management System) application, observation sheets and student worksheets. The results of the data analysis showed an increase in learning using AR media. Based on the t test results of pre-test and post-test through the SPSS IBM 23 output obtained t test synignification of 0.000 <0.05, showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted and could be categorized as moderate with the N- gain value of 0.45.

Abstract

This study aimed to apply inquiry-based worksheets, to analyze the ability of inquiry skills starting from the stage of designing experiments, conducting experiments, and analyzing experimental data on the topic of ice cream stability using protective colloid. Worksheets were applied using a one shoot case study, a study conducted without a comparison class that aims to improve students' inquiry abilities. This research was conducted on fifteen students of fifth semester. The instruments used were descriptions of learning, inquiry-based worksheets, observation sheets, assessment sheets (performance and worksheets). The results of applying the worksheet showed the ability of students in designing experiments, conducting experiments, and analyzing experimental data obtained an average score of 90.75 which categorized very good. The ability to design experiments, conduct experiments, and analyze experimental data obtained results respectively 81.65 (very good); 93.75 (very good); and 96.87 (very good). Inquiry-based worksheets in this study can be used in the study of Food Chemistry, especially in food additives.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to apply an e-module of alternative fuel oriented to green chemistry. The method used was pre-experiment. The data sources in this study came from 40 students of the second semester of the Chemistry Education Study Program who enrolled in General Chemistry II using worksheets instrument and from observers who used observation sheets by observing student activities during the learning process. The application of e-module with green chemistry oriented alternative fuel in this study used a scientific learning process that ran very well because in each stage all students play an active role during the learning process. This was evidenced by the average results of student activity implementation which are 86.83% with very high category. The results obtained were due to the teaching material media in the form of e-module with green chemistry oriented alternative fuels plays a role in the active learning process.

Abstract

Chemistry requires the ability to understand macroscopic, submicroscopic and symbolic phenomena. However, the lack of a strategy to understand the concept at the submicroscopic level has resulted in an incomplete understanding of the concept of chemistry. This is due to the limited tools that can provide visualization of abstract concepts. The use of the Chemanji game board that collaborates with AR technology is expected to be able to visualize the concept of the macroscopic, symbolic and submicroscopic levels and cultivate character in competitive and collaborative team type play. The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of the validation test and describe the appearance of the product of the Chemanji learning game based on Augmented Reality (AR) on the molecular geometry concept. The research method used is Design Based Research (DBR) which is used to describe the appearance of Chemanji learning games based AR through flowcharts, storyboards and validation tests using validation sheets. The results of the Chemanji learning game based on Augmented Reality (AR) have an average value was 0.89 which indicates that chemanji learning games AR-based are valid and can be used as a learning media that is effectively used in learning.
