Abstract

Short children (stunting) is one of the nutritional problems faced in the world, especially in poor and developing countries. Stunting is a problem because it is associated with an increased risk of morbidity. Stunting is caused by a long-term lack of nutrition during the first 1000 days of life (HPK), which is a critical period. 1000 HPK is a period of acceleration of child growth and development (gold period) which starts from the womb for 280 days of pregnancy until toddlerhood for 720 days or around 2 years. This period is a period that determines the quality of life so it is called the golden period. This period is a sensitive period because the consequences for children at this time will be permanent and cannot be corrected. For this reason, it is necessary to fulfill adequate nutrition at this age (Achadi, 2020). In the community service program implemented, it aims to empower cadres in overcoming stunting problems through promotive efforts through Counseling on Assessment of Child Growth and Development by practicing directly how to measure and weigh toddlers by the community service team. The result of community service is an increase in cadres' knowledge about stunting and its prevention. Furthermore, to increase cadres' knowledge about stunting, continuous educational efforts and regular cadres are needed Keywords: Counseling, Stunting

Abstract

Adolescent girls are the phase where the peak of growth occurs and the onset of menstruation which is related to the high need for iron. However, a lack of health knowledge and poor eating habits result in a lack of nutritious food intake and a risk of developing anemia. Young women as future mothers are the starting point for investment in nutrition for the First 1000 Days of Life. Malnourished pregnant women will give birth to babies with sub-optimal nutritional status and are at great risk of reducing their intelligence potential at school age and their productivity at adulthood. Thus, equipping young women with good knowledge about nutrition and health is very important. Good knowledge is expected to equip them to practice good nutrition and health. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge about anemia and adherence of young women in taking iron tablets. This service method uses counseling (lectures and questions and answers) about Anemia and the adherence of young women in taking iron tablets. Conclusion: Young women are able to understand the prevention of anemia in adolescents. It is suggested to health workers, especially the Puskesmas, to provide counseling about anemia to young women more often before giving iron tablets, so that students get information about anemia and want to consume blood tablets given. Abstract

Breast care is very important during pregnancy until breastfeeding. This is because the breast is the only producer of breast milk which is the staple food for newborns, so it must be done as early as possible. Breast care aims to maintain the cleanliness of the breast, increase or expedite the release of breast milk. The purpose of this community service is to prepare pregnant and postpartum women to be in good condition when breastfeeding their babies and to be able to demonstrate proper breast care independently at home. The community service method uses an educative approach on breast care for pregnant women at the Mutiara Barat Health Center in the form of lectures and questions and answers on breast care. The results of this community service are maintaining the cleanliness of the breasts, especially the cleanliness of the nipples, flexing and strengthening the nipples so that it is easier for the baby to suckle, stimulating the milk glands so that milk production is abundant and smooth, can detect breast abnormalities early and make efforts to overcome them and preparing the mother's mental (psychological) for breastfeeding. It is hoped that after an educational approach is taken, pregnant women will have more knowledge and be able to prepare for exclusive breastfeeding for their babies. Keywords: Counseling, Breast care
