Abstract

The construction of the human self begins with communication in the family. The communication process in the family has an important role in building family culture. A gender-fair family can start from the process of communication within the family. This study aims to see how the praxis of family communication patterns is based on gender justice from informants with different backgrounds. Using a phenomenological approach, women's experience of working in communicating with their families can be synthesized using the family communication theory of Beth A. Le Poire. The analysis criteria used used three components of family communication patterns, cohesiveness, adaptability, and communication. As a result, women's experience working in communicating with families has a clear gender justice basis when women's educational and work backgrounds are stable.

Abstract

The establishment of a gold mining company in Desa S caused the split of society into two part. The first part of the community supported mining companies and the second part, some of them refused the establishment of mining companies. So far, the phenomenon of the split of society into two part, often seen in the national and local domains. Whereas, this study wants to see this phenomenon occur in the realm of the household. The division of society in the realm of households is interesting to understand when the role of local state actors is in it. This condition occurred in my research, where there were three households in which there were local level state actors. The position of these state actors is quite dilemma, on the one hand, a family member supports a mining company, on the other hand, one family member rejects a mining company. The study of state-society relations is an appropriate study in understanding these conditions. In this study, the approach used in assessing the relation of state-society is Migdal's "state in society". One of Migdal's main arguments in this approach is that the state works on two levels, practice and image, where Migdal presupposes an entity to have a social boundary between the public (state and agency) and private (subject to state rules). However, what happened in the research that I did, there was no separation between public and private in the state-society relations in the household domain. Therefore, this study would like to show that the boundary between public and private is blended and overlaps each other in the relations of the state-society in the household domain.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan dan meningkatkan literasi digital bagi siswa sekolah dasar di Desa Sukorejo Kulon, Kecamatan Kalidawir, Kabupaten Tulungagung. Program dilaksanakan melalui dua bentuk kegiatan utama, yaitu penanaman Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) dan pelatihan penggunaan Microsoft Word. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Service Learning, yang memadukan pengalaman belajar langsung dengan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam kegiatan sosial. Penanaman TOGA dilakukan di empat sekolah secara bergilir, dimulai dengan penyuluhan mengenai pengertian, jenis, manfaat, serta cara menanam dan merawat tanaman obat, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan praktik menanam menggunakan media polybag. Pelatihan Microsoft Word mencakup pengenalan antarmuka, keterampilan mengetik, menyimpan dokumen, menyisipkan gambar, serta pembuatan dokumen bertema ramah lingkungan. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa siswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang manfaat tanaman obat dan memiliki keterampilan menanam secara mandiri, yang berdampak positif terhadap sikap peduli lingkungan. Selain itu, pelatihan Microsoft Word membantu siswa menguasai keterampilan dasar pengolah kata serta menumbuhkan kesadaran akan penggunaan teknologi secara positif. Integrasi kedua kegiatan ini berhasil menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan, relevan, dan bermanfaat, sehingga diharapkan dapat membentuk generasi muda yang adaptif, melek teknologi, serta memiliki kepedulian tinggi terhadap lingkungan.
