Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed at knowing the clinical efficacies of myofascial release technique to determine the most beneficial result-oriented physiotherapeutic approach for treating pain due to low back pain. Methods: This was a randomized, controlled pretest–posttest experimental study that myofascial release technique. These techniques were compared using a convenience sample of 30 participants with back pain due to muscle spasms with 35-65 age. The numeric pain rating scalewere used to assess the participants’ pain due to back pain, and pain of LBP, at baseline (day 0), day 6, and day 12 post intervention and at during follow-up. All groups were given myofascial releae technique. Repeated-measures ANOVA were used to analyze the data. Results: The within-group analyses showed significant improvement (P0.05) for all variables. Conclusion: MFRT are equally effective for reducing pain with nonspecific low back pain. Furthermore, advice promoting pain reduce can be an adjunct to physiotherapeutic interventions for reducing low back pain and its symptoms. A combination of these manual therapies advice might be a good treatment option for nonspecific pain in physiotherapy clinics

Abstract

Background: Low back pain is one of the common musculoskeletal disorders. Muscle energy technique (MET) may be a useful intervention for treating such disorder. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of MET in people with mechanical back pain. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was undertaken. thirty patients with mechanical back pain were randomly allocated to either the MET group or control group. The former group received MET pre-post 3 and 6 times, and the latter group MET pre-post 6 and 12 times treatment. Treatment was given once a day for 30 days. A numerical pain rating scale (NPRS) was used to measure the intensity of pain was immediately before treatment and again on the 3th, 6th and 12th day. Results: NPRS scores showed no significant improvement in MET 3th and 6hh time and MET groups on the 6th and 12th day post intervention (p <0.05). However, NPRS scores showed better improvement in the MET group A as compared to the MET group B (p < 0.015). Conclusion: Muscle energy technique was better in improving pain in people with mechanical back pain.

Abstract

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a wrist disorder caused by compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. This disorder is characterized by hand pain at night, paralysis of the fingers, and weakness and atrophy of the thenar muscles innervated by the middle nerve. The physiotherapy measures given for CTS problems in this study were TENS and tendon glides exercise. This action aims to restore functional activity of the hand, reduce edema, and reduce pain. This type of research is a one group pre-test and post-test design consisting of 30 respondents with a purposive sampling method. The first observation was a special examination of CTS sufferers using wrist and hand disability index data forms. Second, provide a treatment program using the TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerves stimulation) method and tendon glides exercise. The sample for this research consisted of 30 respondents. From the results of the hypothesis test, it was obtained that 0.000<0.05. So the results of this therapy show a significant increase in hand functional ability between before and after therapy. Based on these results, the intervention given was TENS and tendon glides exercise to improve the functional ability of the sufferer's hands.
