Abstract

Communication between children and stepparents in the family is dyadic interpersonal communication. Dyadic communication is a type of communication that involves the relationship of two people. Dyadic interpersonal communication will be effective if the communication builds a shared understanding based on an attitude of openness, empathy, a supportive attitude or a positive attitude, and equality. This study examined dyadic interpersonal communication between children and stepparents in the family. The author used a qualitative descriptive method. The researchers collected primary data from interviews with five children who have stepparents. The study found the four elements of interpersonal communication in dyadic communication between children and stepparents. The element of openness was the most crucial factor in dyadic interpersonal communication between children and stepparents because it was the beginning of the presence of other aspects of effective communication. In addition, open communication can build positive, equal, and empathetic relationships.

Abstract

This research focused on examining the ways teachers communicate, the engagement level of students in learning, and how teachers’ communication methods affect students’ engagement at SMP Darul Furqon. A quantitative methodology was utilized, following a causal associative research framework. The study’s population included 50 students, all of whom were chosen as the sample using a total sampling method. To gather data, a Likert-scale questionnaire that met the required standards for validity and reliability was used. The analysis of the data involved descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, t-tests, and calculating the coefficient of determination (R²). Results indicated that teachers’ communication methods were rated as very good, with an average score of 4. 40, while the learning engagement of students was rated as good, with an average score of 4. 15. The findings demonstrated that the communication styles of teachers had a significant and positive impact on students’ engagement in learning, as reflected by a significance level below 0. 001. Additionally, the coefficient of determination (R²) at 0. 505 revealed that 50. 5% of students’ learning engagement was attributed to teachers’ communication styles, with the other 49. 5% being influenced by factors not included in this research. These results suggest that employing open, clear, and interactive communication methods by teachers is crucial for improving students’ engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh fenomena flexing di Instagram terhadap kenakalan remaja pada siswa SMK Darul Furqon. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode survei, data dikumpulkan dari 70 siswa yang aktif menggunakan Instagram. Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa flexing memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kenakalan remaja (R² = 0,45, p = 0,001), yang mengindikasikan bahwa fenomena ini dapat menjelaskan 45% variansi perilaku kenakalan. Temuan ini mendukung teori kultivasi, yang menyatakan bahwa paparan media sosial membentuk persepsi dan perilaku remaja. Implikasi penelitian ini penting untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan dampak negatif media sosial terhadap perilaku remaja.   This study analyzes the influence of flexing phenomena on Instagram on adolescent delinquency among students at SMK Darul Furqon. Using a quantitative approach and survey method, data were collected from 70 students who actively use Instagram. The results of simple linear regression analysis show that flexing has a significant impact on adolescent delinquency (R² = 0.45, p = 0.001), indicating that this phenomenon explains 45% of the variance in delinquent behavior. These findings support the cultivation theory, which states that media exposure shapes adolescents' perceptions and behavior. The implications of this study are important for raising awareness of the negative impacts of social media on adolescent behavior.
