Abstract

Limits of functions are material in mathematics that is studied in schools as one of the foundations of calculus. Events that occur to students are that there is an incorrect understanding of the concept. Therefore, this study aims to identify high school students' misconceptions about the material limits of functions. The misconception indicators used include correlational misconceptions, theoretical misconceptions, systematic misconceptions, basic misconceptions, computational misconceptions, and language interpretation misconceptions. The method used was descriptive qualitative with the research subjects being 6 students of class XII MAN Cimahi City who were selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected through the results of essay questions which could identify misconceptions and interview students. Data were analyzed through three stages, namely first data reduction, namely classifying correct and incorrect student answers, secondly displaying data, namely incorrect student answers classified between misconceptions and blank answers, thirdly drawing conclusions/verification, namely by analyzing and describing the misconceptions that occur in students . The results showed that students had conceptual errors, including 33% in question number 1, did not experience conceptual errors in question number 2, 67% in question number 3, 67% in question number 4, 100% in question number 5, and 67% on question number 6.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Visual Basic Application (VBA) Microsoft PowerPoint pada materi himpunan. Adapun metode yang relevan dalam mencapai tujuan tersebut yaitu metode pengembangan ADDIE. Tahapan-tahapan ADDIE yaitu Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation,dan Evaluate. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dengan instrumen lembar validasi media dan ahli materi, serta wawancara pada validator ahli tersebut. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menghitung persentase setiap indikator capaian yang kemudian diinterpretasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan berdasarkan ahli media yakni indikator access 90%, cost 93%, technology 87%, interactivity 80% dan organization 90% sedangkan berdasarkan ahli materi rata-rata capaian indikator tujuan pembelajaran 83%, kesesuaian materi 88% , kesesuaian dengan karakteristik siswa 88%, kesesuaian teori 92%, kesesuaian lingkungan 85% dan kesesuaian dengan gaya belajar 78% . Simpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan tingkat validitas media pembelajaran VBA PowerPoint pada materi himpunan berdasarkan ahli media dan materi sangat valid untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. The aim of the research was to develop the Visual Basic Application (VBA) learning media for Microsoft PowerPoint learning media on set material. The relevant method for achieving this goal is the ADDIE development method. The stages of ADDIE are Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluate. Data collection techniques in this research used validation instruments sheets for media experts and material experts, as well as interviews with both experts. The data analysis technique used uses a quantitative approach by calculating the percentage of each achievement indicator, which is then interpreted. The results showed that based on media experts, namely access indicators at 90%, cost at 93%, technology at 87%, interactive at 80%, and organization at 90%. Based on material experts, the average achievement indicators for learning objectives were 83%, material suitability 88%, suitability with student characteristics 88%, theory suitability 92%, environmental suitability 85%, and learning style suitability 78%. The conclusions in this study indicate the level of validity of VBA PowerPoint learning media on set material based on media experts, and the material is very valid for use in learning mathematics.
