Abstract

Utilization of appropriate plant species, one of which is aloe vera (Aloe vera) and bean sprouts (Flammulina velutipes), which are plant species whose extracts can be utilized as ZPT (Growth Regulatory Substances). The research was conducted in November 2022 with a total of 3 weeks of observations. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth response of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) to a combination of aloe vera and bean sprouts (Flammulina velutipes) extracts. The materials used included tomato seeds, water, aloe vera extract and bean sprouts while the tools used included polybags, soil testers, hoes, gembor and stationery. The method in this study was carried out by RAK (Random Random Control) using 4 treatments including 0 cc, 15 cc, 20 cc, 25 cc with 3 weeks of observation. Watering is done 3 days once a week. The results obtained showed that treatment 3 (20 cc) had a significant impact on tomato growth.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a student worksheet (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik or LKPD) based on Contextual Teaching and Learning that is valid, practical, and effective for students. The research method employed was research and development, with instruments consisting of teacher and student needs questionnaires, material and media validation sheets, practicality sheets, as well as effectiveness sheets through pretests and posttests. Data analysis included validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The results indicated that the developed LKPD demonstrated high validity, was practical for both teachers and students, and was effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the LKPD based on Contextual Teaching and Learning can serve as appropriate teaching material to foster critical thinking skills in biology concepts. Abstract

Interest in learning is important in supporting student academic achievement. This often happens in biology subjects in the classroom. Many students expressed boredom in the lesson. Therefore, researchers will dig deeper related to aspects of student's interest in biology learning. The method used is literature study, which analyzes previous research. The results obtained are factors that influence student learning interest in biology subjects depends on student interest in teachers when teaching, interest in biology subjects, feeling happy with the way teachers teach and delivering material, attention to biology subjects, and being involved in the learning process and student tenacity when learning. In addition, internal factors (physical health, drive, arousal, and grasping ability) and external influences (environment, parents, teachers, learning styles, etc.) can affect students' interest in learning, the most important in interest in learning biology in the classroom is the initial and strong intention that students have when learning biology begins in class
