Abstract

Rapid development has an impact on increasing land use change. The establishment of South Buton Regency in 2014 triggered an increase in development in Batauga District which resulted in the expansion of built-up land and changes agricultural land use. Changes in agricultural land use will affect agricultural productivity, especially leading commodities. This study aims to: (1) determine changes in agricultural land use in Batauga District due to the establishment of South Buton Regency; (2) know the impact of changes in agricultural land use on leading commodities. This study uses quantitative descriptive analysis methods and OBIA. The results of this study include: (1) Changes in agricultural land use due to the formation of South Buton Regency have changed from 3,119.26 acre previously to 2,971.64 acre in 2021; (2) Impact of changes in the use of agricultural land on superior commodities, namely commodities before formation become a base then become non-base after the formation of South Buton Regency and vice versa.. Keywords:  Land Use Change, Agriculture, Leading Commodity

Abstract

The construction of the Kendari-Toronipa road in the Soropia District can have an impact on the economic growth of the community. This research aims to: (1) determine the distribution of community trade facilities along the Kendari-Toronipa Road before construction, during construction, and in operation (2018 - 2022); (2) assess the level of income difference in the community before construction and during operation (2018-2022). Data for this study were obtained through interviews with 91 respondents selected using random sampling method, and then analyzed using economic distribution analysis and paired sample t-test. The findings of this research indicate: (1) the number of economic facilities during construction was 93 units, during the construction phase was 140 units, and during operation was 186 units; (2) The results of the paired sample t test analysis show that before construction and construction which had an increase in income only occurred in Toronipa Village and Leppe Village, then income during construction and operations that received H0 were 8 villages, whereas at the time before construction and operation most of the villages received H0. in Soropia sub-district receive H0, which means there is a significant change in income.

Abstract

The problem of flooding is still a problem that occurs in urban communities. High water intensity during the rainy season results in the potential for flooding in residential areas around the river flow. This study aims to determine flood mitigation in the Wawombalata sub-district, Kendari City. The method used in this research is survey and map overlay. The results showed that: On the flood hazard map, the area that has the highest hazard class is in the RT 5 section. Meanwhile, the flood hazard in the high class covers parts of the RT 1, RT 2, RT 3, RT 4, RT 5, RT 6 and RT 7. Overall the potential for flooding in the Wawombalata sub-district is classified as a high hazard class up to the highest class around residential areas and community housing. Flood mitigation strategies that can be carried out include: Conducting learning about disaster mitigation and outreach as well as disaster emergency simulations, maintaining the functions of vital objects/public facilities. Abstract

Mining companies provide many jobs and can increase local economic growth. The existence of a mining company in the Bahodopi sub-district has become a magnet for people to migrate, causing an increase in population and will in turn affect changes in land use and the socio-economic of community. This study aims to: (1) determine land use change as a result of mining activities; (2) know the socio-economic conditions of the community; (3) determine the effect of land use change on the socio-economic conditions of the community. The data in this study were obtained from interviews with 131 households in Bahodopi District, and were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study include: (1) changes in land use in Bahodopi District in 2014-2018 which decreased the most extensively were forests covering an area of 5.844,73 acre, while open land increased the most extensively namely 4.240,54 acre; (2) education level of society dominantly is high school (96%), from January to November 2022 there were 5.728 cases of ARI with defects at the PT IMIP health center and clinic. and most of the people earn Rp 2.100.000 - Rp 2.500.000; (3) Changes in land use that occurred in Bahodopi District resulted in an increase in population, there were many cases of ARI, and an increase in community's income.
