Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of speaking skills for students. This is proven by the existence of courses or speaking material that students must master. The reality is, there are still students who have problems or lack skills in speaking. So it is very important for educators to improve students' speaking skills. Therefore, this research aims to recommend learning methods that have been proven to improve speaking skills. This type of research is a literature review study. The instrument used in this research is a documentation study. Articles collected via Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Sciencedirect search engines. The data sources in this research amounted to 15 articles, 8 articles obtained from Google Scholar, 5 articles from Researchgate, and 2 Scopus articles. The data sources in this research start from 2017 to 2023. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis, namely describing the articles found in accordance with the research objectives. The research results showed that there are 6 learning methods that have been proven to improve students' speaking skills, namely the debate method, Numbered Head method, project-based learning method, based learning method, jigsau method, and stand up category method; 4 learning models that have been proven to improve students' speaking skills, namely the mind mapping learning model, service project-based learning model, Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) model, and Information learning model; 1 learning strategy that has been proven to improve students' speaking skills. based on collective reflection. So, very few scientific publications discuss learning methods that have been used to improve speaking skills among students.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that students' skills in writing scientific articles are still weak. This research aims to analyze student responses by holding training in writing scientific articles based on information literacy. The type of research used is qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods. The instrument used in this research was an interview guide. The data sources in this research were 10 students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) of the Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN) Semarang. Data collection was carried out by conducting interviews with students regarding responses to information literacy-based scientific article writing training.  The research results showed that student responses were very positive when training in writing scientific articles based on information literacy was held. In general, students are interested, happy and willing to take part in information literacy-based scientific article writing training. The reason students take part in information literacy-based scientific article writing training is to increase their potential in writing articles; increasing information literacy through reading books and previous research journals; can produce your own work and share knowledge; improve and practice the ability to arrange words into sentences.

Abstract

Indonesian Language Eror Analysis in Writing Official Letter for Junior High School Students in Padang ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya menggunakan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar dalam menulis surat resmi, kenyataannya masih ditemukan kesalahan berbahasa dalam surat resmi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini  (1) mendeskripsikan kesalahan penggunaan ejaan, diksi, morfologi, dan sintaksis dalam menulis surat resmi siswa SMP di Kota Padang.  Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskripsi analisis. Data penelitian ini adalah kesalahan berbahasa dalam surat resmi yang ditulis siswa di Kota Padang. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa teknik dokumentasi, yaitu surat resmi yang ditulis siswa. Penganalisisan data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan hal-hal berikut, Pertama, ditemukan 8 kesalahan penggunaan EYD  yang terdiri dari 3 kesalahan penulisan huruf dan 5 kesalahan penggunaan tanda baca. Kedua, Ditemukan sebelas kesalahan penggunaan diksi. Ketiga, Ditemukan dua kesalahan morfologi. Keempat, Ditemukan 24 kesalahan sintaksis. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ditemukan kesalahan berbahasa dalam penulisan surat resmi siswa SMP di Kota Padang dari ejaan, diksi, morfologi, dan sintaksis.Kata kunci: kesalahan berbahasa, surat resmi, SMPABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the importance of using good and correct Indonesian in writing official letters, while in fact there are still some language found in students’ official letters. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe errors in the use of spelling, diction, morphology, and syntax in writing official letters for junior high school students in Padang. The type of research is a qualitative research using descriptive analysis method. The data in this study are language errors in official letters written by students in Padang. The data collection techniques is in documentation techniques, namely official letters written by students. Data analysis was done descriptively. Based on the result of the study, it was concluded as follows. First, the finding is 8 errors in the use of EYD, which consist 3 eror in writing letters and 5 erors in using punctuation marks. Second, eleven errors in the use of diction were found. Third, two morphological errors were found. Fourth, the finding is 24 syntax errors. Consequently, it can be concluded that there are language errors in writing official letters for junior high school students in Padang from spelling, diction, morphology, and syntax.Keyword: language errors, official letters, junior high school

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan penggunaan gaya bahasa kiasan dalam novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy, (2) mendeskripsikan penggunaan gaya bahasa kiasan dalam novel Di Bawah Lindungan Ka`bah karya Hamka dan (3) mendeskripsikan perbandingan gaya bahasa kiasan dalam novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra dan novel Di Bawah Lindungan Ka`bah karya Hamka. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, (1) membaca dan memahami novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy dan novel Di Bawah Lindungan Ka`bah karya Hamka, dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang jelas tentang isi novel yang akan diteliti, (2) menandai bagian-bagian novel yang berhubungan dengan gaya bahasa kiasan, dan (3) menginventarisasi unsur-unsur novel yang berhubungan dengan gaya bahasa kiasan dengan menggunakan format inventarisasi data. Penganalisisan data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan hal-hal berikut, Pertama, Pada novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy ditemukan 6 jenis gaya bahasa kiasan, yaitu gaya bahasa metafora, gaya bahasa simile, gaya bahasa personifikasi, gaya bahasa metonimia, gaya bahasa sinekdoke, dan gaya bahasa antonomasia. Kedua, Pada novel Di Bawah Lindungan Ka`bah karya Hamka ditemukan 7 jenis gaya bahasa kiasan, yaitu gaya bahasa metafora, gaya bahasa simile, gaya bahasa personifikasi, gaya bahasa metonimia, gaya bahasa alusi, gaya bahasa eponim, dan gaya bahasa antonomasia. Ketiga, perbandingan gaya bahasa kiasan novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy dan novel Di Bawah Lindungan Ka`bah karya Hamka yang lebih menonjol ditemukan yaitu gaya bahasa simile, gaya bahasa personifikasi, dan gaya bahasa eponim. Kata kunci: perbandingan, gaya bahasa, novel
