Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the economic variable and demography variable on the rate of unemployment in six provinces in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach – This study uses a quantitative method with the type of data is time series secondary data from 2009 to 2018 and cross data from six provinces in Indonesia, which include DKI Jakarta Province, West Java Province, Central Java Province, DI Yogyakarta Province, East Java Province, and Banten Province. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis, while the t-test was used for hypothesis testing. Findings – Based on the results of analysis, it was found that: 1) With the direction of the negative relation GRDP of the primary sector and GRDP of the secondary sector had an insignificant effect, while the GRDP of the tertiary sector had a significant effect on the rate of unemployment; and 2) with the direction of the positive relation population growth has a significant effect on the rate of unemployment. Research limitations/implications – Because the inflow of migration in the provinces of Java Island is high and the productive-age population in the provinces of Java Island is large, the government can implement a policy to maximize the absorption of the labor force that comes from regions on the island of Java, with the policy in question taking the form of a higher percentage of local male labor in all economic sectors. Originality/value – The objective is to balance the amount of employment with the number of employees. Still, it will also be beneficial to maximize the equitable distribution of the people in Indonesia so that economic growth is also more equal. Keyword : GRDP, Population Growth, Unemployment

Abstract

This is research about the effect of population, mean years of school, and covid-19 on poverty in district/city area III Cirebon including Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, Indramayu Regency, Majalengka Regency, and Kuningan Regency. The data type in this study was secondary data for the period of 2010-2021 and cross data of five areas, whereas the data analysis technique used was panel data regression analysis. According to the result of analysis, it was found that: (1) the population brings an insignificant positive effect on the poverty, (2) the mean years of school brings a significant negative effect on the poverty, (3) the covid-19 brings a significant negative effect on poverty with the significant rate of 5 percent.

Abstract

The population density in Surabaya City makes the needs of the community, one of which is transportation, high. Transportation has an important role in meeting the needs of the community in everyday life in the economic, socio-cultural and political fields. Unfortunately, this has led to traffic congestion. Thus, Surabaya City is trying to improve the public transportation system by launching environmentally friendly public transportation as an effort to implement a green economy, namely Suroboyo Bus. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Information was obtained from various institutional reports, scientific articles, websites, books, and related regulations. The focus of data acquisition sources is credible journal publishers. The results showed that congestion in Surabaya City was reduced due to the enthusiasm of the community to switch to public transportation compared to private vehicles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the Suroboyo Bus payment innovation by exchanging plastic bottles has succeeded in attracting the interest and awareness of some people in Surabaya City to manage plastic bottle waste, although there are still other complaints in the implementation of the policy. The role of Suroboyo Bus as an effort to improve the green economy can be said to be quite successful, but improvements still need to be made and the involvement of the government and the community so that Suroboyo Bus continues to be an environmentally friendly sustainable transportation.

Abstract

This research is a study of the effect of population, mean years of school, life expectancy, and COVID-19 on poverty in Region III Cirebon districts/cities, which include Cirebon City, the Cirebon Regency, the Majalengka and Kuningan Regencies, and the Indramayu Regency. The type of data in this research is secondary data for the 2010-2021 time series and cross-sectional data for five regions, while the data analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis. Based on the analysis's findings, it was discovered that 1) There is no significant effect between population on poverty; 2) there is a significant influence between the average length of schooling on poverty; 3) there is a significant influence between life expectancy and poverty; 4) there is a significant influence between the COVID-19 dummy on poverty; 5) the fourth variable in the study together has a significant effect on poverty; and 6) the four independent variables in the study can explain changes in the poverty dependent variable by 85.09 percent.

Abstract

Every country in the world always expects increased economic growth. So in analyzing the factors that affect economic growth, there are many determinants. However, the IMF reports that the economy in Asia is slowing down due to declining trade. This study uses secondary data with panel data regression method analysis. The results showed that in both middle-income and high-income Asian countries, economic freedom has a positive and insignificant effect on economic growth. While trade openness has a negative and significant effect. For FDI variables and LFPR have a positive and significant effect. While the country dummy variable shows economic growth in middle income and high income in Asian countries shows the results that there are significant differences.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the challenges and efforts to implement digitalization in micro, small and medium enterprises in Indonesia. This study uses qualitative descriptive analysis techniques, researchers collect information and secondary data from various sources and research results from previous journals related to the digitization of micro, small, and medium enterprises. From the results of the study, information was obtained that the challenge of micro, small and medium enterprises in implementing digitalization is to return to human resources who have low knowledge about digitalization, low skills, lack of experience, as well as the low interest of micro and small businesses to want to learn information and communication technology, besides that lack of access to supporting facilities and infrastructure is also an obstacle to the implementation of digitalization. Meanwhile, basically the Indonesian Government has taken quite a lot of steps to optimize the productivity of micro, small and medium enterprises in the midst of the rapid development of digital technology. Based on this, the author suggests that the Government of Indonesia more intensively optimize the equitable implementation of digitalization in micro, small and medium enterprises in Indonesia which is also followed by increasing digital literacy for micro, small and medium enterprises. In addition, the command can also support the acceleration of digitalization of micro, small and medium enterprises through the development of supporting facilities and infrastructure related to information and communication technology.
