Abstract

Education aims to have character to become a better person and prepare to meet their needs by developing their potential. One of the efforts made by educational institutions is to hold extracurricular activities. Extracurricular is an informal educational activity outside the standard curriculum. Extracurricular activities can act as a forum to actively foster hobbies, interests, talents, as well as improve skills, creativity, and increase students' self-confidence. As has been done by MI Ma'arif NU Bantar, located in Jatilawang District, Banyumas Regency, an institution that also focuses its students on being active in extracurricular activities. This study discusses the SWOT analysis which can be seen in terms of weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats of the MI Ma'arif NU Bantar Jatilawang Banyumas extracurricular program. SWOT analysis becomes an effective instrument for efforts to develop educational institutions. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method and is included in field research. The results of this study explain how the SWOT analysis of the extracurricular program at MI Ma'arif NU Bantar Jatilawang Banyumas is as follows which consists of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the extracurricular programs at MI Ma'arif NU Bantar such as scouts, Marchingband, sports, and MTQ. In general, the strengths that exist in the madrasa are the competence of certified teaching human resources. Then on the weakness, madrasas still lack extracurricular trainers. In the opportunity section, extracurricular activities in madrasas are in great demand by students and get support from the surrounding community. This extracurricular obstacle is the lack of student motivation so that it becomes a sustainable threat for extracurricular activities.
