Abstract

Desa Harapan Jaya, Kecamatan Way Ratai, Kabupaten Pesawaran merupakan salah satu wilayah yang potensial untuk proses budidaya lebah tanpa sengat. Beberapa pembudidaya telah memulai proses budidaya lebah tanpa sengat. Namun, madu yang dihasilkan oleh lebah tanpa sengat yang dibudidayakan masih kurang optimal. Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman dan pelatihan akan pentingnya tanaman sumber nektar dalam budidaya lebah tanpa sengat. Tanaman sumber nektar yang merupakan salah satu dari syarat vegetasi yang baik dalam pelaksanaan budidaya lebah tanpa sengat terdiri atas berbagai jenis dan varian. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, penyerahan dan penanaman bibit tanaman sumber nektar. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat harus terus dimonitor agar memastikan upaya pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dapat berdampak positif terhadap produksi madu dari lebah yang dibudidayakan.

Abstract

Harapan Jaya Village, Way Ratai Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency has very promising potential for cultivating trigona bees. Lecture and student from University of Lampung team conducted training on stingless bee cultivation in this village in 2022. At the end of 2022, several stingless bee colonies experienced deaths that were allegedly due to lack of nectar sources. This community service activity was carried out to provide understanding and training on vegetation management and adding stingless bee colonies. Activities are carried out with lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice. The results of the activities that have been carried out include the addition of seven types of nectar source plants and two stingless bee colonies. In addition, the community's understanding of the maintenance of stingless bee colonies and their supporting vegetation also increased.  This is very supportive of long-term programmed in the achievement of SDGs, especially in the goals of life on land and no poverty.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang perlu diperhatikan dalam meningkatkan produksi tanaman kopi adalah pemeliharaan tanaman khususnya pengendalian gulma. Adanya gulma pada tanaman perkebunan dapat menimbulkan kerugian dalam berbagai aspek seperti penurunan hasil panen akibat persaingan unsur hara, air dan sinar matahari. Inventarisasi gulma dilakukan untuk mengetahui gulma penting di lapangan sehingga dapat menentukan pengendalian gulma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis gulma yang terdapat pada perkebunan kopi rakyat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni tahun 2023, di kebun kopi rakyat Desa Tugusari, Sumber Jaya, Lampung Barat pada ketinggian 750 mdpl. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode kuadran 1 m x 1 m secara purposive sampling pada piringan tanaman kopi sebanyak 4 ulangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi jenis gulma dan jumlahnya disetiap kuadran. Hasil inventarisasi gulma diperoleh 7 Family yang terdiri dari 10 Species yaitu: Setaria plicata, Eleusin indica, Drymaria cordata, Asystasia gangetica, Borreria alata, Erechtites valerianifolia, Cosmos caudatus, Ageratum conyzoides, Cuphea balsamona  dan Lindernia crustacea. Family dengan Species gulma yang banyak ditemukan adalah Asteraceae sedangkan jumlah gulma yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu Drymaria cordata.

Abstract

Weeds are highly undesirable plants in plantation areas, including robusta coffee plants. This is as a result of the presence of weeds that might minimise the productivity of robusta coffee plants. Currently, various types of weeds found in robusta coffee plants are known. This study aimed to enumerate the types of weeds found in robusta coffee plants. The research was conducted in June 2023 in robusta coffee plantations in Wiyono Village, Gedong Tataan, Pesawaran, Lampung Province. The research was conducted by purposive sampling with the plot method. The analysis showed that the composition of weeds in coffee plants consisted of 9 families and 14 species. Ageratum conyzoides appeared to dominate the coffee plants with the highest Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) value (46.08%).  The weeds diversity index (H') in coffee plants was 0.823 and the dominance index was 0.636576.

Abstract

Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) is a plantation commodity that plays a strategic role in supporting the agricultural sector. One of the problems in tobacco cultivation is the low germination percentage of seed because of seed dormancy. This study aims to determine the effects of gibberellin concentration and soaking duration on the germination percentage and germination index of tobacco seeds. This study was conducted from February to March 2026 at the Laboratorium Tanaman II, Panen dan Pasca Panen Perkebunan, Politeknik Negeri Lampung. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: Gibberellin concentration (0, 10, 15, and 20 ppm) and soaking duration (1, 3, and 5 hours), with three replications for each treatment. The parameters evaluated were germination percentage and germination index. Data analysis using SPSS was followed by DMRT post-hoc test at 5% significance level. The results showed that gibberellin application and soaking duration had a significant effect on the germination percentage and germination index of tobacco seed. However, no significant interaction was found between the two treatment factors tested. A treatment using gibberellin 20 ppm increased the germination percentage by 5.78% and the germination index by 0.38 compared to the control. Meanwhile, a soaking duration of 5 hours increased the germination percentage by 6.83% and the germination index by 0.40 compared to the control. Abstract

Stingless bees play important ecological and economic roles in tropical ecosystems, yet molecular baseline data for many regions in Sumatra remain limited. This study aimed to characterize mitochondrial genetic variation of Heterotrigona itama colonies from Punggur Subdistrict, Central Lampung, Indonesia, using partial 16S rRNA sequences. Three managed colonies were analyzed through PCR amplification and Sanger sequencing, followed by sequence alignment, BLAST comparison, genetic distance estimation using the Kimura-2-Parameter model, and phylogenetic reconstruction. All samples produced consistent amplicons of approximately 500 bp and showed complete nucleotide identity, indicating a single mitochondrial haplotype among the analyzed colonies. BLAST results revealed high similarity (96.91–98.38%) with reference sequences of H. itama. Genetic distance analysis showed zero divergence among the sampled colonies and low divergence (0.0069–0.0182) relative to other H. itama sequences, while higher divergence was observed with related taxa. Phylogenetic analysis placed all samples within a well-supported H. itama clade. These findings indicate mitochondrial uniformity among the sampled colonies and provide a preliminary genetic baseline for H. itama in Central Lampung. However, broader conclusions on population structure require further studies with larger sample sizes and additional molecular markers.
