Abstract

The development of security in the context of international politics and international relations has developed from time to time. Nowadays, the practice of security done by a country's government can be imbued with the advancement of technological innovation, dubbed cyber-influenced. Hence the term cyber-security is often used to indicate the association of information technology with security. The United States and China, as two competing big-power countries, also actively utilize cyber-security over the years. This article will describe the cyberwarfare between The United States and China, focusing from 2014 until 2022. A qualitative descriptive method is used, complemented by cyber security and state sovereignty concepts to analyze the case. Results indicate that both countries are involved in cyberwarfare based on defensive reasoning. The fact that both countries are referred to as great powers in international politics also complicates the case, as they have a high-tension nature of the relationship.

Abstract

During the decade following the Arab Spring and the Yemeni Revolution, significant changes and dynamics occurred in Yemen, particularly in the realms of politics and security. The current situation can be categorized as "stable" due to the absence of escalating conflicts between the parties involved. However, the cessation of hostilities between the Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government, supported by a coalition of Arab countries, has the potential to create new challenges. Additionally, the ongoing humanitarian crisis resulting from the Yemeni conflict continues to require international attention. Despite considerable attention given to the current state of Yemen, there is a lack of scholarly research utilizing scientific literature to examine the condition of Yemen a decade after the revolution. Consequently, this article aims to review the Yemeni Revolution after ten years, using relevant publications from 2012 to 2022 obtained through Google Scholar and the Publish or Perish application. The data will be visualized using the Vosviewer application as a basis for analysis. The findings of this research reveal the complex conditions underlying the ten-year conflict that emerged in the aftermath of the Yemeni Revolution, characterized by multifaceted conflicts interrelated with various factors that have prolonged the crisis.

Abstract

Femen is an international women's movement with bare-chested acts and body paintings with slogans and flowers as symbols of protest. The history of this movement began in 2008 which was carried out in Ukraine. As a movement group, Femen has a vision to oppose patriarchal values and culture, especially those that develop in Europe. This article will analyze the policy of several countries as responses to the Femen movement based on the perspective of 4 waves of feminism and the concept of checks and balances. While the method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with literature study techniques to obtain data. The results of the study show that most of the parties involved, including countries in the European Union, do not provide policies or special treatment for the Femen movement, but will take firm action in accordance with applicable law if the actions of Femen members have exceeded the limit. In this case, this firm attitude towards Femen is applied when the protest action that is carried out causes anxiety and disrupts the course of an agenda within the European Union. Femen often targets public places, one of which is a place of worship, to give a shocking effect that can attract the world's attention. This method is a way to get the world's attention to them, so that they can voice their opinions more freely in the hope that the international community can empathize with their aspirations. Femen's actions that are bare-chested in carrying out their actions often cause uproar in society. Instead of getting public empathy, their actions actually have an impact on the negative stigma attached to them.
