Abstract

Community Service (PkM) is carried out by the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Methodist Indonesia by providing counselling the effect of HIV Infections and AIDS. PkM was held on 8-11 June 2022 at Lumban Pea Timur, Balige,Toba District, North Sumatera. The method used is to provide counselling/lectures and provide motivation, then followed by question and answer to obtain results and solutions as a form of problem’s solving and obstacles faced. The results of PkM with counselling are very effective considering that there are still many people who do not get information about HIV infections and AIDS. With this counselling, the public becomes aware of the HIV_AIDS Infections problem. Thus, it is hoped that the people of Lumban Pea Timur will aware and know how to prevent their community from HIV-AIDS Infections.

Abstract

Uterine atony is a postpartum condition in which the uterus does not contract and retract so that the blood coming out of the placenta becomes uncontrolled. The failure of the uterus to contract after giving birth is often the cause of labor bleeding. The incidence of uterine atony is 50-60% from the 5-15% rate of postpartum events. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of uterine atony patients. This study used a descriptive research method with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in April-May 2016 at Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital Medan. By using the total sampling method, with a sample of 47 patients who had met the sampling criteria. Data was collected by taking data from medical records from 2010-2013, then processing and analyzing data. This study obtained the highest proportion of the age group 36-40 years 30%, 94% high school education, housewife work 94%, multipara parity 64%, number of babies born single 96%, birth weight 3600-4000gr 38%, hemoglobin before labor 8-10gr / dl 74%, age tabulation with 30% parity and weight tabulation of babies born with hemoglobin before delivery 38%. In this study, it is known the frequency distribution of characteristics of uterine atony based on age, parity, the number of infants collected, birth weight, and hemoglobin before delivery at Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital Medan.

Abstract

The nutritional status of children in Medan City becomes unbalanced, where from the level of health many foods available to children are not suitable for nutrition, so that nutritional status is not suitable for consumption, where there are still some children in various areas in Medan City who experience malnutrition problems, thus affecting growth and also mindset when he grows up. This study used descriptive longitudinal analytical method. The population of this study amounted to 29,100 people who experienced reproductive health problems, where reproductive health problems would cause sexual diseases. The population of this study amounted to 650 children who experienced irregular eating patterns and poor nutritional status in Medan City, where the sample taken amounted to 70 children who experienced irregular eating patterns and malnutrition status in Medan City. The results stated that the number of children who experienced poor diet and nutritional status were children in the East Medan District area in the age range of 16-19 years, where children experienced poor diet and nutritional status, because the food nutrition provided did not contain good nutrients.

Abstract

Medan City is a city that has a chaotic urban planning and layout, where the development carried out does not pay attention to environmental health conditions, as well as the lack of insight and checking of water conditions, as well as the environment of people who still live in an environment that is not clean and orderly has an impact on the lack of improvement in the quality of life, and decreases the welfare of the community. This study used descriptive longitudinal analytical method. The population of this study amounted to 29,100 people who experienced reproductive health problems, where reproductive health problems would cause sexual diseases. The population of this study amounted to 1,450,000 residents who owned housing in Medan City, where the sample taken amounted to 72 residents who owned housing in Medan City. The results of the study stated that the number of residents who have unhealthy categorized housing is in East Medan District, which causes a worsening of environmental health improvement due to the Government's lack of readiness in determining water quality that is not up to standard, as well as the deterioration of development sustainability due to the response of the Medan City Government by establishing residential areas that are in an environment that is not neat and clean.
