Abstract

Proses pemotongan logam merupakan proses pembentukan dengan cara menghilangkan kelebihan material dari benda kerja awal sehingga yang tersisa adalah geometri akhir yang diinginkan, baik dengan proses konvensional maupun non konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tegangan terhadap kekerasan dan kekasaran  pada hasil proses pengerjaan menggunakan Wire EDM. Uji kekerasan menggunakan pengujian kekerasan rockwell menurut standar JIS Z 2245:2011, sedangkan  pengujian kekasaran permukaan menggunakan standar JIS 82.  Variasi tegangan yang digunakan adalah 5, 6, 7, 8 volt. Dari hasil pengujian didapat nilai kekerasan terendah yaitu 11,3 HRC pada tegangan listrik 5 volt, sedangkan nilai kekerasan tertinggi yaitu 18,67 HRC pada tegangan listrik 8 volt. Sedangkan nilai kekasaran terendah yaitu 1,606 µm terdapat pada tegangan listrik 5 volt, sedangkan nilai kekasaran tertinggi yaitu 3,491 µm pada tegangan listrik 7 volt.

Abstract

Waste in the form of garbage in the Piyungan area, Bantul Regency, consists of organic and non-organic waste, currently the condition is increasingly worrying because the landfills are very limited, so waste management must be managed optimally. To reduce the accumulation of excessive waste, a waste-cutting machine is needed. An efficient waste-cutting machine requires the right knife by choosing a knife between the crusher and shredder types. The selection of one of the blades used in the waste-cutting machine requires a design analysis using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) calculations and simulation assistance. Based on the results of the analysis of the calculation of the crusher-type knife using 4 blades, the required power is 2 HP, costs 8.8 million rupiahs and, the results of the FEA allowable stress test are 3.19E + 04, and 2.5 E + 08 are safe. While the Shredder type blade uses 13 blades, the required power is 2 HP, which costs 9.8 million rupiah and the FEA allowable stress test results are 1.53E+04 and 2.5E+08 safe. The results of the analysis obtained are that the selected crusher-type knife can be recommended for use in the design of a waste chopping machine because the manufacturing cost is 8.8 million and the Allowable stress is 3.19E+04,

Abstract

Packaging is the spearhead of marketing because it directly deals with consumers. Technological advances in the world of modern manufacturing and trading industries are competing to innovate to create the highest quality packaging. Paraffin wax coating, which is waterproof can provide resistance to packaging and the strength of a product so that protection is guaranteed against light, gas, harmful bacteria. The wax coating process without the use of large amounts of human labor requires a laminating system with a PLC program. Planning of this control system is supported by the selection of components based on the voltage on the PLC and ladder diagram simulation assistance with CX-Designer software. The simulation results of ladder diagram control system runs well and the application of ON OFF control using no NC instructions, temperature control thermostat, solenoid valve to open the valve in the chamber, and the calculation of the number of cartons that have been laminated with counter instructions and as an OFF signal on the motor.
