Abstract

ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease which ranks fourth as a cause of death in developing countries. The main pillars in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus are providing education, nutritional therapy, physical training, and providing pharmacological interventions. Providing education that has had a positive and significant impact on DM sufferers is the Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) method. This study aim to evaluate the effectiveness of the application and web-based Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) method for type 2 DM patients. This study used a systematic literature review design. Articles were collected through the PubMed and Google Scholar databases using the keywords DSME Web Application, DSME Smartphone. The criteria for the articles used are those published from 2014-2020. The results of the literature review show that the application-based DSME method is more effective in improving self-management of type 2 DM sufferers. Searching for articles related to 9 sources included in the criteria. The conclusion is that the application-based DSME method is more effective because it does not require a lot of money and takes a long time compared to direct control to a health facility, the application can always be accessed whenever we want thereby helping to improve self-management in people with Diabetes Mellitus. Keywords: DSME; web application; smartphone ABSTRAK Diabetes Melitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang menempati urutan ke empat menjadi penyebab kematian di negara berkembang. Pilar utama dalam penatalaksanaan DM tipe 2 yaitu pemberian edukasi, terapi gizi, pelatihan jasmani, dan pemberian intervensi farmakologis. Pemberian edukasi yang sudah memberikan dampak positif pada penderita DM yaitu dengan metode Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi keefektifan metode Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) berbasis aplikasi dan web pada penderita DM tipe 2. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain systematic literature review. Artikel dikumpulkan melalui database PubMed dan Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci DSME Aplikasi Web, DSME Smartphone. Kriteria artikel yang digunakan adalah yang dipublikasikan dari tahun 2014-2020. Hasil tinjauan literature menunjukkan metode DSME berbasis aplikasi lebih efektif dalam peningkatan manajemen diri pendrita DM tipe 2. Penelusuran artikel yang terkait 9 sumber yang termasuk dalam kriteria. Kesimpulannya adalah metode DSME berbasis aplikasi lebih efektif karena tidak membutuhkan biaya yang banyak dan waktu yang lama dibandingkan dengan melakukan kontrol langsung ke fasilitas kesehatan, aplikasi juga dapat selalu diakses kapan pun kita inginkan dengan demikian dapat membantu meningkatkan manajemen diri pada penderita Diabetes Melitus. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is a major health emergency thatcauses significant suffering and many deaths among indigenouspeople worldwide. During the pandemic, indigenouscommunities have higher rates of health problems than thegeneral population. This review explores the impact andstrategies for handling COVID-19. This scoping review aims todraw key concepts from the available literature that underpinsa research area. The literature search was conducted on eightdatabases, namelyPubMed,DOAJ,Science Direct,Cochrane,Wiley,ProQuest, andGaruda, in July-November 2022. Theonline search engine was Google, and the keywords for thesearch were "impact of COVID-19 in indigenous people". Theresults of this review are expected to provide a reference ofstrategic considerations to deal with the pandemic inindigenous people. These strategies should focus on improvingdigital skills, health literacy to combat misinformation,awareness of COVID-19 handling, the benefits of COVID-19prevention, and compliance with health guidelines as well as onactively involving patients in health decisions

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition caused by the pancreas' inability to produce enough insulin hormone, leading to elevated blood sugar levels. Treatment-seeking behavior refers to actions or efforts taken by individuals when they are ill. Foot care is an action to maintain foot hygiene in diabetes patients and prevent early foot injuries. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between treatment-seeking behavior and foot care on the risk of diabetic foot ulcers in the service area of Sudiang Raya Community Health Center. Method: This research used a quantitative method with a Cross-Sectional design and a population of 423. The sample consisted of 80 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using Treatment Seeking Behavior questionnaire, Appendix H The Modified Diabetic Foot Care Behavior Questionnaire, and Ipswich Touch Test (IpTT). Results: The results of this study showed that there is a relationship between treatment-seeking behavior and the risk of diabetic foot ulcers (p=0.022). Conclusion: In conclusion, there is a relationship between treatment-seeking behavior and the risk of diabetic foot ulcers in the service area of Sudiang Raya Community Health Center.
