Abstract

Around 468.4 million people or 30% of the population of young women and women of childbearing age (WUS) in the world are anemic. The prevalence of anemia among young women in developing countries varies between 20-70%. Recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) at the 65th World Health Assembly (WHA) agreed on an action plan and global targets for a commitment to reduce 50% of the prevalence of WUS anemia by 2025. (Blanket approach) that is trying to cover all targets of young women who get iron tablets and are required to consume them to prevent anemia and increase iron reserves in their bodies without prior initial screening, namely checking Hb levels. One of the high schools that was the target of the program for administering 52 iron tablets was SMAN 5. In 2022 there will be 439 students in grades 10 and 11 and 100% of them have received 52 blood tablets, but only a few have had a hemoglobin check. Giving iron tablets can increase Hb levels in patients with iron deficiency anemia, but has no effect on patients with thalassemia. The blanket approach does not separate iron deficiency anemia sufferers from other types of anemia such as thalassemia. In female students who suffer from thalassemia, giving excessive blood-boosting tablets can make the liver work harder and have no impact on increasing Hb levels. The blood supplement administration program needs to be evaluated so that it is in line with the target. This community service activity was carried out in order to evaluate the blanket approach program by examining Hb levels and screening for thalassemia in young women who had finished taking 52 tablets of iron supplement. The results of checking Hb levels and screening for thalassemia can be used as a basis for program evaluation. Furthermore, education was provided about the benefits of anemia detection and thalassemia screening in order to prepare for a healthy reproductive period.

The post-test result reveals that the lowest score was 9 the highest was 15 and that the cadres' average knowledge score was 13,70 The right response is known to the typical cadre. When the distribution of the data was not normal, a Wilcoxon test was used to measure knowledge before and after the data normality test. The test's value of 0,000 indicates that training had an impact on cadres' understanding of reducing toddler stunting. The output goals include establishing gemasting cadres and improving partner communities' knowledge, comprehension, perceptions, and abilities to reduce stunting.

Samples were taken using a total sampling technique of 30 treatment groups given the Brainstorming method and 30 people received the Buzz Group method. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariately to determine the frequency distribution, then bivariate analysis using the dependent t-test to see differences in knowledge before and after giving the brainstorming method and the Buzz Group method. The results showed that there was a difference in the mean increase in respondents' knowledge before and after using the brainstorming method with a mean difference of 1.233 and the difference in knowledge before and after using the buzz group method, namely 3.133. While the results of the analysis of differences in knowledge using the brainstorming method and the buzz group with a p value of 0.000, the difference in the mean value of 2.689 means that the buzz group method is more effective in increasing adolescent knowledge about reproductive health than the brainstorming method. It is suggested that the puskesmas should provide guidance to youth posyandu using a variety of varied methods such as buzz groups in providing IEC for reproductive health

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The incidence of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) tends to increase every year according to data from the Jambi City Health Office in 2018 showing that pregnant women with Chronic Energy Deficiency were 6% of 11,581 pregnant women and in 2019 it increased by 7% of 11,680 pregnant women. CED has an impact on increasing the risk of anaemia, bleeding, infection, risk of prolonged and premature delivery. Methods: Observational research with cross sectional design at Primary Health Care Paal X, Jambi City. Aiming to determine the factors associated with the incidence of Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnant women. The population of all pregnant women who did pregnancy checks was 164 people. The sample was taken by quota sampling as many as 61 people. Data collection using a questionnaire. Univariate analysis and bivariate chi-square test. Results: A total of 36.1% of pregnant women with CED. There is a relationship between education level (p=0.015), knowledge (p=0.032), occupation (p=0.045) with the incidence of CED. There was no association of age (p=0.775), and income (p=0.276) with the incidence of CED. Conclusion: Several factors are associated with the incidence of CED pregnant women, namely education, knowledge and occupation. It is hoped that health workers will improve the program of handling pregnant women with CED through nutritional needs counselling and early detection of factors that cause CED in pregnant women.
