Abstract

Abstract Campus mosque has an important role in propaganda activities on campus, making it attractive for the research object. This aims of the research are to determine the influence of da’wah activities and the use of campus mosque as a medium of communication in the character building of students in the city of Makassar. and to observe how the characters of students built and suvervised through Da’wah activities conducted in campus mosques. This research employed a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods. Data were collected with questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation and were analyzed with classification and then presented in frequency tables. The results of the research indicated that campus da’wah activities and the use of mosque as a communication media is simultaneously and significantly correlated to the change of students’ characters. Students’ characters built through campus mosques da’wah activities tend to be characters of worship, personal and social. thus the mosque is a vital communication medium in missionary activity. Abstrak Masjid kampus mempunyai peranan penting dalam aktivitas dakwah di kampus, sehingga menarik untuk menjadi objek penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara aktivitas dakwah dan penggunaan masjid kampus sebagai media komunikasi terhadap pembentukan karakter mahasiswa dan bagaimana karakter mahasiswa yang dibentuk dan dibina melalui aktivitas dakwah yang menggunakan masjid kampus sebagai media komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan mengorganisasikan data, yaitu menggabungkan kelompok data yang satu dengan yang lainnya sehingga data yang dianalisis berada dalam satu kesatuan dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas dakwah dan penggunaan masjid kampus sebagai media komunikasi berhubungan secara simultan dan signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter mahasiswa dan karakter mahasiswa yang terbentuk melalui aktivitas dakwah yang menggunakan masjid sebagai media komunikasi berupa karakter pribadi, karakter ibadah dan karakter sosial. dengan demikian masjid adalah media komunikasi yang vital dalam aktivitas dakwah.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is How is Social Support for Broken Home Children in Community Empowerment in Onto Village, Bontomatene District, Selayar Islands Regency. From the main problem, the researcher puts forward two sub-problems as follows: 1) how is the behavior of broken home children in Onto Village, Bontomatene District, Selayar Islands Regency? and 2) what form of social support is given to broken home children in community empowerment in Onto Village, Bontomatene District, Selayar Islands Regency? This type of research is qualitative research with a sociological approach. The data sources for this study are primary data and secondary data. Furthermore, the data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation. Then, data processing and analysis techniques are carried out with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the behavior of broken home children in Onto Village, Bontomatene District, Selayar Islands Regency is; 1) children become more independent, children have difficulty managing emotions, lose motivation to learn, and children become depressed and always hopeless. 2) Forms of social support given to children from broken homes include: emotional support, appreciation support, instrumental support, and informative support. The implications of this study indicate that social support from family and society plays an important role in helping children from broken homes adapt and develop positively. Therefore, attention from parents, community concern, and support from the government in the form of empowerment and mentoring programs for children from broken homes are needed.
