Abstract

This study is aiming at finding out the impact of Tayub exploitation on the tradition and life of Javanese society. Research approach implemented in this study was qualitative. In addition, the research technique employed was interview, observation, documentation, and literary study. Results show that the new form of Tayub diminishes the structure of feminism, neglects simplicity, gentleness and spontaneity that are supposed to be part of Tayub dance. The movement of dance, music, and costume are also changed into a total different form, compared with the genuine version of Tayub dance. These major changes do not only bring negative impacts on the dance structure, but also change the society’s mindset and behavior. People living in the countryside part of Java have lost their control towards customs’ regulation and a philosophy that used to be held tightly by them.

Abstract

Perkembangan dunia digital di era sekarang sangatlah pesat. Salah satu aspek yang terpengaruh dari adanya perkembangan dunia digital sekarang adalah Seni. Seni yang dulu dikenal akan nilai tradisi dan kuatnya daya magis karena nilai leluhur yang sangat besar seketika berubah menjadi nilai modern yang menjangkau semua kalangan. Apalagi di era pandemi Covid-19 seperti sekarang, semua kebutuhan dan kegiatan dilakukan melalui digital yaitu virtual guna memutus rantai penyebaran virus. Musik adalah salah satunya. Di Sanggar Karawitan Setyo Manunggal adalah salah satu tempat musik tradisi khususnya Karawitan di Mojokerto yang berkembang. Dengan adanya perkembangan dunia digital dan menghindari penularan virus maka pembelajaran karawitan di sini dilakukan melalui saluran virtual dengan monitoring langsung melalui perangkat digital seperti laptop dan perlengkapan audio video lainnya. Untuk pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara secara online dan informasi yang diberikan berupa file atau tulisan lainnya dari pemilik sanggar dan sumber lainnya. Penilaian yang dilakukan melalui praktik langsung secara online diakhir pertemuan pembelajaran karena sistem yang digunakan yaitu 3 kali pertemuan untuk pembahasan materi dan praktik mandiri (Zoom&Aplikasi E-Gamelan) + satu kali praktik langsung. Untuk teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kompleks dengan mengumpulkan data sebanyak banyaknya kemudian menyaringnya untuk dipilih sesuai kebutuhan kemudian disajikan dengan simpulan terakhir.
