Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition where toddlers have a length or height that is less than their age. This condition is measured by a length or height that is more than minus two standard deviations of the WHO child growth standard median. Stunting is caused by several factors. The causes are poor practice, limited health services, lack of access for families to consume nutritious food, and lack of access to clean water and sanitation.. Objective: This study aims to determine the difference between nutrition education and booklet media on the knowledge and feeding patterns of mothers with stunting toddlers. Methods: This research is included in the literature study research or systematic review. Systematic literature review or often abbreviated as SLR or in Indonesian called systematic literature review is a literature review method that identifies, assesses, and interprets all findings on a research topic, to answer research questions that have been previously determined. Results The average knowledge before giving education using booklets tends to be low, but after giving education using booklets it is proven to be effective in increasing parents' knowledge about caring for stunting toddlers. Another result is that before the intervention education was given as many as 9 respondents (20 percent) in the poor category, 29 respondents (64.5 percent) had sufficient knowledge in the good category, 7 respondents (15.5 percent) in the good category. After the intervention, 34 respondents (75.6 percent) had knowledge in the good category, 8 respondents (17.7 percent) in the sufficient category, and 3 respondents (6.7 percent) in the poor category. Conclusions: There is a difference in the knowledge of mothers of stunting toddlers before and after being given nutrition education with booklet media. Statistically it also shows a significant change in the knowledge of mothers of stunting toddlers after being given nutrition education with booklet media. Abstract

Background: Wasting is a toddler problem related to inadequate nutritional intake and the presence of comorbidities or infectious diseases. thing as a direct cause. Wasting was assessed using the anthropometric index of Body Weight by Height or Body Length with a z-score value below -2 SD. Riskesdas data in 2018 describes very thin toddlers as much as 3.5% and skinny toddlers as much as 6.7%. The combined data of very thin + skinny toddlers is 10.2%. In overcoming wasting, this nugget was made with the aim of this research being to analyze the nutritional quality, protein quality, organoleptic test and determine the best treatment level for the tofu, yellow sweet potato and broccoli nuggets formula. Methods: This research is an experimental study that uses a completely randomized design on the Tofu Nugget Formula, Yellow Sweet Potato and Broccoli. The proportion of the treatment level of this Nugget with the ratio of Tofu: Yellow Sweet Potato: Broccoli is P1 (40: 30: 30), P2 (50: 20: 30), P3 (50: 30: 20). Results: Determination of the level of treatment shows that the best value is treatment 3 (P3) with a value of 0.71. The nutritional values ??for treatment 3 (P3) were 96.50 Cal of energy, 3.15 grams of protein, 4.78 grams of fat, 10.38 grams of carbohydrates, 63.38 mg of phosphorus and 4.53 mg of vitamin C. The organoleptic results for P3 were color 3.7, aroma 3.75, taste 3.3, texture 3.05. Conclusion: Organoleptically, each aspect of color, aroma, taste and texture showed no difference (p value > 0.05). While the composition of all nutritional values ??contained different values ??from each treatment. Keywords: Formula, Nugget, Tofu, Wasting

Abstract

Abstract

Atherosclerosis is likely to cause oxidative stress due to an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants that results in decreased hemoglobin and leukocyte levels and increased cholesterol in the blood. Turkey berry (Solanum torvum) has the potential to overcome these problems. This study aimed to analyze the effect of turkey berry administration on cholesterol, hemoglobin, and leukocyte levels in rabbits. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using 30 rabbits fed an atherogenic diet for five weeks. The results showed that turkey berry administration has a significant effect on cholesterol levels (p<0.05). Supplementation with 60 mg/kg BW/day of turkey berry powder in the atherogenic diet reduced cholesterol more effectively than the 40 mg/kg BW/day dose. The inclusion of turkey berry to an atherogenic diet increased the hemoglobin levels (p>0.05); the average hemoglobin level was 12.9 ± 0.09 g/dL across all groups. Although the effect of turkey berry powder on raising hemoglobin was more significant in rabbits on a normal diet, its administration in rabbits fed an atherogenic diet successfully decreased average cholesterol levels to 219.42 mg/dL and caused a slight increase in average leukocyte levels to 8.655. In conclusion, turkey berry supplementation lowered cholesterol levels, had a minimal effect on leukocyte counts, and did not significantly influence hemoglobin levels in rabbits fed an atherogenic diet.
