Abstract

This study objective was to examine the quality of sago residue fermented with Effective microorganism 4 (EM4) on merino sheep performance. This research was conducted in Kec. Binjai City of North Sumatra. This research has been conducted for 3 months starting from October until December 2016 using 20 sheep merino with initial weight of 18.30 ± 1.16 kg. The design used in this study was a complete randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. This treatment consists of P0 (non-fermented sago residue 40%); P1 (20% sago residue of fermented + 20% non fermented sago residue); P2 ("30% fermented sago residue + 10% non fermented sago residue) P3 (40% sago residue fermented). The results showed tht the dispersion of sago residue fermented EM4 give significant effect (P <0,05) to feed consumption, PBB and feed conversion. Added body weight and feed conversion. The mean respectively for feed consumption (g / head / day) in the treatment arrangement P0, P1, P2, P3 was 470.0; 539,7; 565.0; And 632.2. The average weight gain (g / head / day) was 59.6; 76.1; 99.2; 111.7 and the feed conversion rate was 11.6; 9,13; 6.65; And 5.78. The conclusion of this study is that the use of sago residue fermented EM4 to 40% level in the ration has a positive effect in increasing the body weight, feed consumption and decreasing the value of feed conversion to sheep.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted in Kecamatan Selesai from June to August 2016. The method used was survey method with consideration of the aceh cattle studies using palm oil fronds in amoniation and fermentation as a substitution of forage in Kecamatan Selesai, with the division of business scale. Criteria for determining the scale of business was based on the number of livestock ownership. Determination limit frequency distribution length of the class, was the ownership of the largest ownership reduced smallest in the length of class. The result showed that every treatments P0, P1, P2, P3 provide different results to average of total cost production (Rp/ekor/peroide): P0 6.284.187,69, P1 Rp. 6.502.768,02, P2 Rp. 6.225.270,04, and P3 Rp. 6.459.359. The average of total cost production (Rp/ekor/periode): P0 Rp. 6.430.300,00, P1 Rp. 6.688.470,00, P2 Rp. 6.666.010,00,- and P3 Rp. 6.666.010. The average of analysis profit/loss(Rp/ekor/periode): P0 Rp. 146.112,31; P1 Rp. 185.701,98, ; P2 Rp.440.739,96 dan P3 Rp.190.940,20. The average of R/C ratio: 1,02; 1,03; 1,07 dan 1,03. The Average of IOFC (Rp/ekor/periode): 197.687,31; 240.356,98; 490.354,96 and 242.515,20. The results of this research was utilization of palm oil fronds which treated phisical + fermentation can increase income of cattle raiser.

Abstract

The Utilization of Planting White Oyster Mushroom Media Wastes (Pleurotus ostreatus) fermented by Starbio on Local Sheep male Performances. White osyter mushroom media waste is one of agricultural waste can be utilized sheep. The research have been conducting for 3 month ago. The purpose of this research is to find out and learn the influence of the use of white osyter mushroom media waste in fermentation with starbio performances on male local sheep. This study used 20 male local sheep. The method used was a complete randomized design which consist of four treatments and five replications. The treatment consists of 4 types with utilization of planting white oyster mushroom media wastes different P0, P1, P2, and P3 are 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% respectively. The result of this reseacrh showed that P0, P1, P2, and P3 treatment were significanly differences (P≤0,01) in feed consumption, average daily gain but had no significanly (P≥0,05) in feed convertion ration ration. Based on this research can be concluded that the utilization of media wastes planted white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) fermented by Starbio on 10% level increase feed consumption, average daily gain and income over feed cost local sheep male.
