Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu untuk memberikan pemahaman dan pendampingan tentang pentingnya sertifikasi halal terhadap pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) khususnya di Desa Hessa Kecamatan Air Batu Kabupaten Asahan dengan memberikan pemahaman tentang pengaruh label halal dalam bentuk sertifikasi produk, pembentukan pengalaman mengenai langkah-langkah pengajuan sertifikasi halal ke Kemenag Melalui aplikasi. Dengan penambahan wawasan dan pengalaman dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan daya saing bagi para pelaku UMKM di Desa Hessa dan sekitarnya, Kecamatan Air Batu, Kabupaten Asahan. Selain itu juga mampu memperluas ruang lingkup penjualan bagi lingkungan sekitar para penggiat UMKM. Kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan melalui tahapan sosialisasi kepada pelaku usaha hingga pendampingan pendaftaran sertifikasi jaminan produk halal secara online bagi 15 pelaku UMKM yang bergerak di bidang kuliner usaha skala kecil dan menengah. Dengan pendampingan proses sertifikasi halal ini, segala permasalahan mengenai cara pengurusan sertifikat halal yang dianggap susah dapat teratasi dan menjadi contoh bagi pelaku UMKM lainnya di lingkungan Desa Hessa, Kecamatan Air Batu, Kabupaten Asahan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the religious values contained in the local wisdom of the Malay community in Batu Bara Regency through the traditions of Pesta Tapai, Mogang, and Mandi Belimau, which are held before the month of Ramadan. The research problem focuses on the form of religious values contained in these three traditions and their contribution to strengthening spirituality, social solidarity, and the preservation of local wisdom based on Islam. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data collection was carried out through field observations, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community members, and documentation studies. The results show that Pesta Tapai functions as a means of strengthening religious values and empowering the community's economy; the Mogang tradition plays a role in strengthening social bonds and togetherness through kenduri activities; while Mandi Belimau is interpreted as a symbol of self-purification and spiritual readiness in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. These three traditions not only function as customary practices, but also become a medium for internalizing Islamic values in the social life of the community. This research contributes to enriching the study of the integration of religious values and local wisdom, and emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural traditions as a means of strengthening religiosity, Malay-Islamic cultural identity, and passing on local values to the younger generation in Batu Bara Regency.

Abstract

Islamic Higher Education Institutions Daar Al Uluum Asahan Islamic Institute play a pivotal role in shaping an excellent Muslim generation, particularly in Asahan Regency. This study aims to examine the existence and contributions of Daar Al Uluum Asahan Islamic Institute in fostering students’ character, intellectual capacity, and Islamic social competence. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies involving community leaders, academics, and  Daar Al Uluum Asahan Islamic Institute students. The findings indicate that  Daar Al Uluum Asahan Islamic Institute contributes to expanding access to education grounded in Islamic values, strengthening students’ morality, and encouraging their engagement in social and da’wah activities. An integrated curriculum and Islamic campus activities further shape students’ religious identity and competitiveness. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, including limited infrastructure, digital innovation, and inter-institutional collaboration. This study concludes that  Daar Al Uluum Asahan Islamic Institute plays a significant role in nurturing an excellent Muslim generation in the region; however, strategic reinforcement, partnerships, and policy support are required to enhance its future contributions
