Abstract

Abstract — Textbooks are media that must be owned by educators and students. Books vary in size and mass and require more space and time than smartphones. Books also don't give the appearance of moving material (animation) and the use of attractive colors. In this study, an interactive animation application has been created which contains subject matter for elementary school (SD) students. This application was made to increase the attractiveness of students to study and make it easier for students to learn using smartphones. The software development method used is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). The application was made to have multimedia and interactive elements by adjusting the subject matter for elementary school children in grades 5 and 6. Respondents stated that the multimedia elements were clear, and the appearance of this interactive application was very interesting. All respondents stated that this application could facilitate learning. The teacher gave answers on a very good rating scale. Abstrak — Buku pelajaran merupakan media yang harus dimiliki oleh tenaga pendidik maupun anak didik. Buku memiliki ukuran dan masa yang bervariasi dan membutuhkan ruang dan waktu yang lebih jika dibandingkan dengan smartphone. Buku juga tidak memberikan penampilan materi yang bergerak (animasi) serta penggunaan warna yang menarik. Dalam penelitian ini, telah dibuat suatu aplikasi animasi interaktif yang berisi materi pelajaran untuk siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD). Aplikasi ini dibuat untuk menambah daya tarik siswa untuk belajar dan mempermudah siswa belajar menggunakan smartphone. Metode pengembangan software yang digunakan adalah Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). Aplikasi dibuat memiliki unsur multimedia dan interaktif dengan menyesuaikan materi pelajaran anak sekolah dasar kelas 5 maupun kelas 6. Responden menyatakan bahwa unsur multimedianya jelas, dan tampilan aplikasi interaktif ini sangat menarik. Semua responden menyatakan aplikasi ini dapat mempermudah dalam belajar. Guru memberikan jawaban pada skala penilaian sangat baik. Kata kunci — Aplikasi; Animasi; Interaktif; Multimedia Development Life cycle, Pembelajaran; Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

The training and mentoring activities for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for teachers were chosen with the aim of enhancing or improving teachers’ understanding and ability to implement AI technology in the educational environment. Initial interviews revealed a lack of knowledge and skills among teachers in utilizing AI tools, which affects the quality and effectiveness of learning. The methods applied in this community service include counseling and training, preceded by surveys and interviews. Teachers were given intensive training that included an overview of AI and how to apply AI tools in the teaching and learning process. Additionally, there was an implementation phase that required teachers to design and implement simple AI-based learning applications as supporting media. The AI tools used included Gamma, IlovePDF, chatPDF, and ChatGPT. The results showed significant improvements in teachers’ understanding and skills in using AI tools. Teachers were able to create AI-based learning applications aimed at enhancing interaction between teachers and students. Furthermore, teachers could reduce administrative workload and optimize resources. Thus, the use of AI can have a positive effect on the quality of learning. The implementation of AI also facilitates teachers’ work in managing administration, such as handling attendance, assessments, and lesson planning.
