Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to address the problem of how the process of learning to write drama scripts and prove the effectiveness of the application of self-preservation techniques through film media for learning to write drama scripts. This research is an experimental research design with a Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were students of class XI 21 Gowa High School. The sample of this research is class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2. The test used is a test of writing script drama skills. In this study using 6 aspects of assessment, namely theme, setting, characterization, flow, mandate, dialogue. The prerequisite test for normality analysis is using the smiling Kolmogrof test and the Homogeneity Test using the Variance Homogeneity Test. Data analysis techniques for hypothesis testing using the two-sample independent t-test hypothesis. There is a difference that the average value of Postest in the control class is 72.39 and the experimental class is 78.1 so that the self-preservation technique through film media in the experimental group is more effective than in learning to write drama scripts without self-preservation techniques through film media in the control group. Keywords: self-preservation, films, drama scripts
