Abstract

This teaching activity aims to improve Mathematics learning outcomes in the material Circumference and Area of Squares and Rectangle through the application of the Problem Based Learning model in class IV SDN Majasetra 02. The research method used is qualitative methods. then the researcher also explored the research information from the observations by conducting interviews with the class 4 teacher and accompanied by the implementation of teaching practices in class 4. The research was conducted in one of the elementary schools, namely SDN Majasetra 02 which is in Kp. manirancan, Majasetra, Kec. Majalaya, Kab. Bandung Province West Java. Interviews and documentation were conducted to obtain accurate information about the themes studied. problems and difficulties that occur during learning, namely the teacher has to teach with 64 students in 1 class accompanied by class conditions that are not conducive and some children who do not memorize multiplication and problems that often occur such as students whdid not bring a tool to measure, namely a ruler so that the measurement process was hampered by time (a friend who did not carry a ruler took turns with a friend who brought a ruler). then researchers carry out teaching and learning activities with the PBL model.

Abstract

Learning mathematics in elementary school is very important to improve students' thinking patterns. Selection of learning models, learning strategies, and making learning media must be in accordance with the character of students. This research was conducted by the writer at SD Plus Bakti Nusantara 666 using a qualitative approach research method in the form of a case study. The learning model used is by applying the Problem Based Learning Model which aims to enable students to think critically about a problem. The material being taught is about cube nets and beam nets in class V SD. Which is where students are taught to distinguish between cube nets and beam nets, and students are asked to make, shape, and be able to distinguish block nets and cube nets. Student learning outcomes were quite satisfactory. The average student gets a score of 90. The purpose of this research is to find out how influential the Problem Based Learning Model is taught in the material of cube nets and beam nets.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the concept of learning mathematics in elementary schools based on Jean Piaget's cognitive theory. The focus of this research is how the concept of learning mathematics at the elementary school level is based on Jean Piaget's cognitive theory. This study used a qualitative approach with a library survey data collection method. The data analysis carried out in this study is a form of data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model with three stages of data analysis. From the results of this study it was found that elementary school students are children aged 7 to 12 years who are in the concrete action stage, and they understand reversible and conservative logic operations in the concrete action stage.
