Abstract

Korupsi menjadi salah satu masalah yang sering diperbincangkan dan menjadi topic dalam berita utama di Indonesia. Korupsi dirasa sebagai karakter yangtelah berakar dibangsa ini dan pada tahun 2020 saja dalam semester pertama telah tercatat 169 kasus korupsi dan hal ini menunjukan begitu maraknya kasus ini di Indonesia. Pendidikan sebagai salah satu lembaga yang bertujuan mempersiapkan generasi penerus bangsa dituntut untuk dapat mengambil peran penting dalam membina anak bangsa sejak dini. Bertolak dari masalah tersebut penelitian ini Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Mengembangkan cerita melalui Lesson Study untuk kemudian dapat digunakan dalam metode Stroritelling 2) Mengetahui validitas dan keterbacaan cerita yang dikembangkan melalui metode strotelling pada siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and development) dengan mengikuti 3 tahap Lesson Study yaitu tahap 1) tahap plan 2) tahap do. 3) tahap see.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisa secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa cerita yang dikembangkan valid dan layak digunakan. Cerita yang dikembangkan dalam metode storitellyng sangat menarik dan mudah dipahami oleh siswa Sekolah dasar kelas IV.

Abstract

Learning processes implemented in higher education institutions must be student-centered. Such processes provide opportunities for students to actively engage in learning activities, enabling them to acquire understanding and skills aligned with the intended learning objectives. To achieve this condition, active learning methods are required, one of which is the Field Study method. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the Field Study method on the critical and creative thinking skills of pre-service science teachers. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pre-test–post-test approach. The effect of the method on students’ critical and creative thinking skills was examined through pre-test and post-test scores. The results indicate that the Field Study method has a positive effect on improving students’ critical and creative thinking skills, as evidenced by the pre-test and post-test scores. The Wilcoxon test results for pre-test and post-test scores on students’ critical and creative thinking skills show a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. In conclusion, the Field Study method significantly enhances students’ critical and creative thinking skills and is appropriate for use in exploring subject matter related to real-world problems encountered by students. The implication for future science education is that the Field Study method can be effectively applied to learning activities involving real-life issues surrounding students. Science education is not solely concerned with theoretical knowledge but also with developing the ability to critically analyze problems and generate creative solutions.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is essential for students to develop their scientific abilities. Indonesian students' performance in this area is still very low, as shown by the 2018 PISA results. To address this issue, schools need to provide support to students. Through this community service program, a solution is offered by conducting GILaS through simple experiments for St. Paulus Karuni Middle School students. The main objective of this community service program is to strengthen students' scientific literacy through simple experiments. Through the experimental method, students are actively involved so they can understand the steps and results of the experiment, thereby strengthening their scientific literacy. The participants were 42 students, 16 male and 26 female. The evaluation instrument used was a student response sheet on the implementation of the activity. The instrument contained four main indicators: 1) interest and motivation to learn, 2) understanding of the material, 3) implementation and mentoring, and 4) general benefit. The results of the activity showed that students responded positively to the GILaS activity, with response rates of 65.28 percent strongly agree, 31.15 percent agree, 1.79 percent disagree, and 0.79 percent strongly disagree. GILaS activities are essential, especially for schools with limited laboratories and those that have never conducted practical work at school. This activity is an important part of a collaborative effort to strengthen students' scientific literacy.
