Abstract

Pada anak usia 6-12 tahun paling banyak ditemukan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penyebab yang mendasari masalah tersebut adalah kurangnya kesadaran diri sendiri dan orang tua dalam membiasakan anak menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar serta tepat waktu. Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut jika tidak dilakukan perawatan akan menimbulkan rasa sakit pada gigi yang berakibat anak malas melakukan kegiatan, anak tidak hadir kesekolah dan nafsu makan menurun sehingga mengakibatkan gangguan tumbuh kembang pada anak. Permasalahan pada anak usia sekolah dasar di SDN 7 Arawa Kabupaten Sidrap berdasarkan hasil observasi pada 31 orang anak menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak mempunyai karies gigi, sehingga sangat perlu dilakukannya tindakan preventif, yaitu penyuluhan dan praktek menggosok gigi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah membiasakan anak-anak untuk menyikat gigi dari sedini mungkin dan memberikan pengetahuan tentang cara sikat gigi yang baik dan benar. Pelaksanaan program praktek merawat gigi pada anak meliputi tahapan proses ceramah, tanya jawab, dan praktek. Metode dalam penyuluhan pendidikan kesehatan gigi adalah dengan melakukan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada anak dengan memberikan media yang dapat digunakan seperti penggunaan alat peraga dan juga parktik langsung.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada masyarakat adalah mengabaikan kebersihan gigi dan mulut dan hal ini didasari oleh kurangnya pengetahuan ataupun edukasi tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Melalui program penyuluhan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut dan dapat berpartisipasi secara aktif dalam meningkatkan upaya pelihara diri. Jenis kegiatan  ini dengan menggunakan power point dan video mengenai kesehatan gigi dan mulut sebagai metode penyuluhan. Dalam kegiatan penyuluhan ini masyarakat ikut aktif dalam merespon, melakukan dan menjawab pertanyaan.sehingga kegiatan ini berjalan dengan baik. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan ini dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga kesehtaan gigi dan mulut.

Abstract

  Dental and oral health problems are one of the main issues in global public health, especially among children who are in the developmental stage. One of the educational approaches that is considered effective, interesting, and easy for students to understand is the use of innovative video media. The purpose of this research is to increase children's knowledge about dental and oral health. This study adopts a pretest-posttest group design. All class IV students totaling 30 people were used as samples in this study through the application of total sampling techniques. The Paired Statistical Test is a statistical analysis technique used to assess the difference in the average student knowledge score between before (pretest) and after (posttest) (innovative video playback). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), which means that there was a significant difference between the students' level of knowledge before and after being given an innovative video. Based on the results of research on the effectiveness of innovative videos in increasing knowledge about dental and oral health of fourth grade children of SDN 4 Belawae, it can be concluded that innovative videos have proven to be effective as an educational medium because they are able to attract attention, make it easier for students to understand, and convey information in an attractive and interactive visual way. Abstract

Dental and oral health is one of the important things in maintaining a balance of body functions. The perception and behavior of the Indonesian people towards dental and oral health is still poor. The purpose of this community service is to improve dental and oral health through dental and oral health examinations and education for SMAN 2 Sidrap students. The method of implementing activities includes activity licensing, coordination with schools, preparation of counseling media, dental and oral health education and dental examination screening. Based on the results of the activities carried out by the team, it can be concluded that counseling (Dental Health Education) and dental health checks can be carried out properly and smoothly, get a positive response from students and there is good cooperation between teachers, schools and students. Educational activities for school students are carried out to improve dental and oral health and are proven to be able to improve their knowledge so that they can become pioneers for their families.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems in elementary school children are still a public health problem, especially in areas with limited access to health services. Low knowledge and behavior of maintaining dental and oral hygiene contributes to the high incidence of dental caries in children. This community service activity aims to increase children's knowledge and healthy living behavior through dental and oral health education. The activity was carried out at SD 4 Lainungan, Pabaraseng Village, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, with the target of elementary school students. The methods used include interactive counseling as well as demonstrations and good and correct brushing practices. Evaluation was carried out through questions and answers and observation of toothbrushing skills. The results of the activity showed that most of the students had low knowledge and many experienced dental caries. After educational activities, there was an increase in students' understanding and skills in maintaining dental and oral health. Education accompanied by direct practice is effective as a promotive and preventive effort in shaping children's healthy living behaviors.
