Abstract

One of the influential learning resources utilized today is a web-based learning management system. The web-based e-learning’s usability is also influenced by the user interface. In measuring usability, eye-tracking technology can be employed to examine eye gaze of an individual when looks at a specific point at a certain time. The use of eye-tracking is beneficial in obtaining objective data. This study aims to evaluate the usability of UAJY Learning Management System website interface and examine the user's interaction with the website interface. Thirty-five participants were recruited in a usability testing experiment. Participants were asked to do three tasks related to the use of e-learning features while their eye movements were recorded. The USE Questionnaire and task-related question data were processed using statistical descriptive methods and eye movement data generated into heatmaps. The Usefulness, Ease of Use, Ease of Learn, and Satisfaction aspects of the UAJY LMS gains more than 80% feasibility percentage. Overall results of feasibility categorized the UAJY LMS as Very Feasible. There was no difference found in usability aspects between gender, faculty background, and eye condition groups. Heatmaps results show that navigational elements in the LMS are utilized properly and successfully help participants in performing tasks.

Abstract

Multimedia learning is defined as the process of forming a knowledge mental model from words and pictures. It is important to measure cognitive process during multimedia learning. Differences in learners’ capabilities can be investigated through cognitive processes to improve the learning process. However, conventional methods such as interviews or behavioural assessment do not provide an objective measurement of cognitive processes during multimedia learning. Some advance methods to measure cognitive processes takes into account learner’s eye movement during learning process. In such a case, eye-tracking can be used as an alternative method to measure cognitive processes because eye movement has become a major part of human cognitive function. Another issue is related to the learners with different gender, which might have different styles of interaction with the source of information. Unfortunately, the effect of gender disparities in multimedia learning has not been widely studied. To address this research gap, this study examines the effect of gender differences based on eye-tracking metrics during multimedia learning. Based on the experimental results, `time until first fixation` on the text-type area of interest (AOI), `number of fixations` on the image type AOI, and `transition` from text-type AOI to image-type as well as `transition` between Image AOIs provided notable distinctions for each gender group (p < 0.05). It was found that male learners preferred to access information from images. In contrast, female learners tended to do a thorough inspection on textual and pictorial information during multimedia learning. This study can be used as an alternative method for collecting cognitive process indicators in multimedia learning.

Abstract

Machine learning methods have been applied to male fertility diagnosis in recent years. Through early infertility case detection, this technology application offers potential benefits to the medical field. This study presents an experimental investigation that examines the prospect of using the oversampling technique and feature selection to enhance the performance of shallow classifiers to classify male fertility on the Fertility Dataset. Two oversampling techniques (SMOTE and ADASYN), two different scalers (MinMax and Standard), and two different feature selection methods (SelectKBest and SelectFromModel) were used to improve the performance of the classifier. The results show that the performance of machine learning models is better on the oversampled dataset than the original dataset. Random Forest performed best on the SMOTE test set with 90% accuracy, 89% and 100% Recall in Normal and Altered classes, respectively. Accidents or trauma, Age, and High Fevers features are selected by SelectKBest, and considered as factors that contribute to male fertility in prior studies.

Revolusi industri 4.0 mendorong implementasi teknologi dan sumber daya manusia yang tangkas mengoperasikannya. Menanggapi hal tersebut, PT. Telkom Akses dengan aplikasi e-learning “Fiber Leadership Academy” melatih karyawan mereka agar dapat berkembang. Namun, PT. Telkom Akses membutuhkan e-learning yang mudah diakses pada platform mobile. Penulis bekerja sama dengan PT. Telkom Akses untuk merancang aplikasi “Fiber Leadership Academy” versi mobile. Perancangan desain antarmuka menggunakan metode Design Thinking, dengan aplikasi Figma untuk merancang antarmuka, dan Maze untuk menguji antarmuka. Pengujian menerapkan metode Usability Testing dan System Usability Score (SUS). Hasil penelitian berupa rancangan antarmuka yang mudah diakses, efisien, menarik, dan user friendly. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pengujian terhadap karyawan PT. Telkom Akses yang berperan sebagai responden. Diperoleh nilai sebesar 83,3% pada aspek learnability, nilai 76,49% pada aspek efficiency, nilai 81,5 dengan grade “A” pada aspek satisfaction.

Abstract

In the digital era, information systems are vital for business operations. Monggo Sport Store, which still uses manual records (books and spreadsheets), experiences data errors and transaction delays. This research developed a web-based Information System (using PIECES aspects) for real-time stock and transaction management. This system has features for stock recording, sales transactions, employee management, and financial reports. The system's success is proven in the performance aspect (Performance), reducing stock update time from 37 minutes 30 seconds in the manual system to only 1 minute 23 seconds, and data search time from 2 minutes 45 seconds to 45 seconds. Overall, the system improves the efficiency of stock checking and transaction digitization (Eficiency & Economy), data access control (Control), and Information validity (Information). The information system is able to simplify stock management, transaction recording, and improve the accuracy of service to customers (Service).   Dalam era digital, sistem informasi vital bagi operasional bisnis. Toko Monggo Sport yang masih menggunakan pencatatan manual (buku dan spreadsheet), mengalami kesalahan data dan keterlambatan transaksi. Penelitian ini mengembangkan Sistem Informasi berbasis web (menggunakan aspek PIECES) untuk pengelolaan stok dan transaksi secara real-time. Sistem ini memiliki fitur pencatatan stok, transaksi penjualan, pengelolaan karyawan, dan laporan keuangan. Keberhasilan sistem terbukti pada aspek kinerja (Performance), memangkas waktu pembaruan stok dari 37 menit 30 detik pada sistem manual menjadi hanya 1 menit 23 detik, serta waktu pencarian data dari 2 menit 45 detik menjadi 45 detik. Secara keseluruhan, sistem meningkatkan aspek efisiensi pengecekan stok dan digitalisasi transaksi (Eficiency & Economy), kontrol akses data (Control), dan validitas Informasi (Information). Sistem informasi mampu mempermudah pengelolaan stok, pencatatan transaksi, serta meningkatkan ketepatan layanan kepada pelanggan (Service).
