Abstract

The war of the media business were getting faster along with the growth of the mass media industry in the current era of information revolution. Media business competitors are not only from mainstream media (media with legal entitas) but also from individuals because of the rise in online media. However, the social media is also rife, enlivening the virtual world, which in fact has become a competitor for the real world. The era of this revolution has made a number major media outlets out of business because they were hit by the wave of new media. To survive, the media is forced to create, innovate, and collaborate. Many media that already exist in large groups have collapsed, especially independent media. However, the unique thing is that new media are growing. Some Media Business strategies for Young CEOs in the Information Revolution Era include Innovation, Creation, Collaboration, forming a solid team and experts in the field of media, and the use of advertising that werw carried out continuously. This if done sustainably can be a young business strategy to run the mass media business.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is an interaction activity that we often encounter in everyday life, one of which is interaction between teachers and students. Interpersonal communication can influence human behavior such as personal character. The Special High School for the Mentally Disabled by Karya Ibu Palembang is an educational forum for mentally disabled students who have limited IQ and whose task is to build the students' character. This research aims to analyze teacher interpersonal communication in the formation of students' character and obstacles. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, which tries to describe the object being studied based on facts in the field. The results of this research show that interpersonal communication between teachers and students in the formation of personal character can be obtained through openness, empathy, supportive attitudes, and positive attitudes, while equality in teacher and student interactions cannot influence self-character. In the interpersonal communication process, there are also barriers to interpersonal communication between teachers and students such as process, physical, psychological, and technical barriers.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the efforts of regional revenue in exploring sources of local original income (PAD) so that income from the tourism sector gets many visits from within the country and abroad or abroad. The Palembang city government needs to make all events, but tourist destinations are almost in all regions, that is the need for a promotional strategy carried out by the Palembang City Tourism Office. This study aims to find out how the strategy of promoting the lantern festival as a cultural icon in the city of Palembang. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, This research uses data collection methods in the form of in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies. The data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data presentation and Conclusion Drawing and Verification. The results of the study show that the Lantern Festival promotion strategy in Palembang City is designed to strengthen its position as a cultural icon that attracts local, national, and international tourists. The approach used includes a promotional mix such as advertising, public relations, personal selling, and direct marketing. The use of social media is one of the important elements to reach the younger generation who are exposed to global culture.
